tModLoader Assorted Crazy Things; A Mod Full of Crazy Things

Happy Easter everyone. I'm happy to announce that we've finally pushed the 1.4 preview build of Assorted Crazy Things! We've mostly been quiet due to extensive coding and spriting work, but we're finally back! With this update, you'll need to be using the 1.4 tModLoader preview build, accessed through the BETAS option in the properties for tModLoader on Steam. Due to some of our code requiring the preview build, this mod currently does not work on the stable build, so sorry for that inconvenience. Once the preview build is pushed to the stable build however, ACT will work just fine with all other mods currently on the stable build! Below is our changelog;

Why was the loot magnet removed?
 
Surprise, we've got a fun update today! With the generous cooperation of billybobmcbo, we now have cross-mod compatibility with The Amulet Of Many Minions: Combat Pets! With this update, almost all of the pets found in Assorted Crazy Things can now be turned into combat pets at any Demon Altar. We did not turn the cute slimes or light pets into combat pets, but everything else that was already in the mod can now be converted. To make use of this feature, you will need both Assorted Crazy Things and The Amulet of Many Minions active at the same time in your list of active mods. Be sure to check out the pets page of our wiki in the opening post if you'd like to read what each pet is capable of, or you can try them out ingame and not spoil the surprises!

Additionally, we've added some items to the Deerclops since we've got items for every non-event boss, as well as something spooky for your cute slimes to wear. Be sure to make a Knitting Set if you want this new spooky item.

Excited to try this out with the Amulet mod, I was considering adding it to the run I am currently planning with my 2 friends but now I definitely am since I already am adding this mod in (partially cause one of my friends is obsessed with the slime girls lol). Keep up the great work!
 
Ultra small update; we gave three pets some new costumes for Halloween. Joyous Slime, Docile Demon Eye, and Possessed Goldfish are ready to trick or treat with you! Also fixed an issue with Baby Ichor Sticker that I only learned existed recently regarding how transparency works in Terraria. No more silly little mistakes like that going forward!

This time, we focused on a quality of life change for our Soul Harvester boss, including new weapons and a new way to encounter it. Gone are the days of the little bird appearing at your side the moment you enter the dungeon! Changelog below, and further information can be found at our Github wiki.

If you encounter any issues on the 1.4.4 beta branch, do let us know and we'll resolve the issues as soon as we can.
 
This is with the version for 1.4.3.6, so maybe it's been fixed in the version for 1.4.4.9, but I noticed two problems that make bestiary completion troublesome.

The first is that cute slimes are unconditionally part of the bestiary, but only conditionally part of the game. If they're off, which they are by default, you can't even force them to spawn using tools like Cheat Sheet as they just don't exist, changing the config option requires being out of game and reloading all mods. Could their bestiary presence also be made conditional? It'd make more sens this way.

The second is that at least some of the harmless creatures are apparently unlocked by killing them, instead of by just being nearby like for vanilla critter. This is particularly annoying for Chunky's Eye and Meatball's Eye because they can't be killed, only caught with a net, and catching them does not unlock their bestiary entry.

I cannot replicate the cute slime issue. There are no bestiary entries for them if the config setting is disabled. Are you sure it's them and not something else?
The issue with the eyes will be fixed.

EDIT: After fixing the latter issue (which only affected these two you mentioned), I got 100% completion, so idk about the first issue you described

At that point I figured out the missing entries were the cute slimes, so I enabled them. I was so certain it was the slimes that I didn't think of counting how many entries were locked before and after enabling them.

But even after unlocking them all, there were still plenty of missing entries. That's when I had the idea of killing the harmless friendly creatures, and this did get me down to just two locked entries.

That's when I ran out of ideas and started looking at the code on GitHub and noticed that the eyes had bestiary entries.

I just wanted to say that im super happy to see this still being updated. This has always been a required mod for me when playing modded terraria cause them slime girls are just so GOSH DARN CUTE! (and that lil spunky goblin too)
Would love to see more accessories and clothing stuffs for them, (like a cute dress and sunhat, or nightcap and a cute lil bunny plush for them to hold)


Also love the Soul Harvester to bits, and find myself using its hardmode upgrade pretty well into the game as a summoner. Definitely hoping for more fun surprises like him in the future :D

This is odd
Have you tried setting it up with just this mod? Maybe theres a conflict.
What version of the mod are you running?
