I have an issue with the ore gathering chest not gathering all the ore types. It used to, but now I only have two hardmode ores and a couple modded ones coming in.

ugh, what? When did that change? I was hoping it was a bug, but it seems intentional. Not a good change... now I need to screw around and make multiples of these and put all sorts of different pickaxes in them to see what happens.
when you do, please post your results. i've been meaning to do that as well, and if i do, i'll post mine as well.
edit; decided to do it lol
edits; keep fixings this up lol
editss; updated the list for version 1.1.0
if a ore is "gatherable" from multiple tools, then the higher the power, _usually_ the higher the amount gathered. in version 1.0.2; an ore will be gather from its minimum power needed, up to +99% power, and a tool will gather from its value, down to -99%. in version 1.1.0 this lower limit was removed; a tool will gather from its pick power down.
Ore Gatherer - can convert some ores. for example Demonite Ore to Crimtane Ore and vise-versa
Copper Ore, Iron Ore, Silver Ore, Gold Ore, Demonite Ore, Cobalt Ore, Mythril Ore, Adamantite Ore
thoriummod
Smooth Coal, Thorium Ore, Life Quartz, Magma Ore, Aquaite, Lodestone Chunk, Valadium Chunk, Illumite Chunk
Complete Gatherable Ore List with minimum power needed
for version 1.1.0 just make sure that the tool has at least the strength listed for the highest ore you want to get
I'll think about how I could make the recipe better without adding too many ingredients or new items. Same with the fishing chest, I guess the seaweed isn't really necessary from a gameplay perspective and can be annoying to try to intentionally collect.

I guess i didn't add those to the list of modded ores...I can put those in easily enough in the next update. I have to hardcode them in manually, and I haven't played any recent versions of Calamity, so I wasn't aware of them. Your pickaxe power/ore gathrered list is great, I can add a link to it in the top post if that's okay.
Sorry, I did forget. I hadn't updated the mod in so long that I'd forgotten some of the requests like this. I'll figure something out for the next version.

Sorry. I had to reduce the massive number of relatively useless earlygame ores you get from high tier pickaxes, and this seemed like the simplest way. If you do need large quantities of earlygame ores, set up a few chests with hellstone or cobalt pickaxes, you don't have to be limited to one auto chest of each type. I don't know any better way to deal with chest clutter, but I'm open to suggestions.
you absolutely may post a link, i'm glad its useful tbh. i most likely will update it when the mod updates.
one thing i find that clutters some of the chests is the gold coins. with only 100 per stack it takes up much more space then a stack of anything '999' would. can they be auto exchanged to platinum coins? something i personally would love to see, but i quickly admit would be alot of work, would be a config file that allows each gatherable item as yes/no. for example, in the ore chest, if you wanted the hardmode ores, and copper, then those would be 'yes', and the rest would be 'no'. personally, that way i could turn off glowsticks, and any other things i personally don't want.

I can probably add some code to exchange stacks of 100 gold coins with platinum, doesn't seem too hard. The idea of a config file to adjust what each chest collects sounds interesting, but it seems like it would be a pain to change it on the fly. I don't have any experience with making new ingame GUIs either. If you really want to limit the items you get from a chest, i guess you can "pre-fill" all the slots with whatever you want and leave no space for other items. So just put one copper ore in every slot of an ore gatherer with a cobalt or similar tier pickaxe, and you shouldn't get any iron or gold or whatever. It's a bit of a pain to set up, i suppose, but the chests don't fill up that fast anyway as long as you check them every few hours.
lol that "pre-fill" is what i have started doing! would be great if you add the coin exchange. as for the config, there would be no need for a GUI at all, "reduced grinding" tModLoader - Reduced Grinding often changes its config structure, and i personally have not known it to have a gui. therefore, changing it on the fly doesn't happen; the player manually changes the values in a text editor, and reloads the mods. i'm new to modding (and c# in general) so i don't know exactly how hard it would be, but there is some information at tModLoader - Modder's Guide to Config Files and Optional Features .
edit; an existing gui for mod configs tModLoader - Mod Settings Configurator
reedit; the configurator mod doesn't seem to work correctly for me, its probably outdated.
edit; the "restocked" message doesn't appear anymore. that is another thing that would be great to have a config turn on/off.
thanks for adding the coin exchange, it works for the boss farmers, however it doesn't work for the money chest. purely out of interest i took a look at the extracted cs files, and i am guessing its the "break;" on line 1327? thats only a guess though lol

I would also like the "chests have been stocked" message to come back. It lets you know when it is a new day, whether you have a time piece on you or not. It's also a good reminder to go check the chests; I'd forgotten all about mine.
