My old idea was too complex and too hard. Some of it will stay the same. Other parts will be redone and made more friendly to players.
Asteroid Belts are Hardmode exclusive regions that generate after you kill the wall of Flesh. They spawn in the high skies, far above Floating Islands, and are intended as spots with challenge content.
They are mostly made out of Asteroid Blocks; they are dark grey in coloration. Asteroids have a weird effect of making your gravity lower when you are near them. Asteroids, compared to the original version of the idea, just stay still (to be easier to code).
Asteroids are a good place to get tons of Hardmode ore; they are a spot to travel to when you need larger deposits of the three blessed ores than whatever spawns below the earth.
Enemies spawn on Asteroids. They are intended to be more of a challenge than offering actual game progression. They are supposed to drop good loot.
Enemies:
Space Slug: Small, dark purple slugs. They almost look Nebula like in coloration, but aren’t related to the event. They crawl around the asteroid and gave the ability to dig through it when they change to worm AI. Space Slugs deal moderate contact damage.
Astronaut: Possessed armor like enemies on the moon. They wear Meteor armor, but have the ability to shoot their Laser Rifle at you, dealing good and fast damage. Relatively deadly enemies.
Meteor Dude: Meteor Heads with arms. They follow similar AI, but punch you and explode.
Star Elemental: Fallen Stars that chase you and multiply as an effect. They spawn from a giant star. Kill the mother before she storms you with enemies.
Space Station: Tiny space stations that shoot homing missiles at you. These missiles can be destroyed with attacks.
