Augmented TCF - A Chrome Extension & FireFox Add-on

I don't think removing the lock would be too bad of an idea. Isn't it possible to just detect if the thing the text points to is an image or not? Like, if it can create an icon to display, then it's valid. Although with my basic knowledge of programming in general, I'm guessing that would be quite advanced.

Honestly, I could do that, but I'd also have to implement something to check if there are new entries in the input. Even then, any option where you can avoid using bandwidth is better. If it comes to it, I will do that. As is, checking for a valid url seems easier above all.

This extension is f***ing AMAZING! Thanks for your hard work!

Status update on Firefox:

Once it comes out, it should mark the start of 1.1. I'll might add another feature once I get firefox working, just to make 1.1 not fully ff-focused. As for how it is functionality-wise,

It works! Okay, well, kinda. I've only impimented httpsToHttp and arrowKeyNavigation, but they work! As of 5 minutes after posting this, all site-wide features work fine without extra fiddling. This leads me to believe that content-specific stuff should be just as easy to add. At this rate, a usable extension could come very soon.

There'll probably need to be a little more work in the implementation of the other scripts, but I can assure you that it should be uphill from here. Once I get to adding options, I might (depends on how firefox likes to handle some stuff) have to do a little more googling.

But I'm really happy right now, at 12 AM. It works!

You've probably heard this too many times now, but:
This is truly magnificent, I'm at a loss of words at how good it is! I could never expect such an extension to exist.
I'm truly grateful, and very thankful that you invested your time to make this for others.
Keep up the great work, and good luck making versions for other browsers. :)

@Awordley I doubt you can hear that too many times.

Everyone should have this!

So, I have a Firefox version technically up in the AMO store on GitHub back on AMO, read post for relevant details. Details can be found in the new "Firefox" spoiler at the bottom of the OP.

As with this, 1.1 is out. Nothing new for chrome users except some bugfixes. A few things for firefox users.

THIS IS SO EPIC!

+1

Pretty nice indeed. Now all I have to do is to set my mind on being able to reach this new stuff from wherever and not scroll all the way back up xP

I get that we can't remove or replace custom smilies, but maybe allow us to post links to specific images/smilies that wont be shown? (For example, if I were to dislike Samrux's smilies, I could post the images in the Options, and whenever that image link is posted, it would be removed or replaced by a text of our choice)

That seems just to fiddly to do for something of so little worth...

@Everest, thank you!
I'm not using Google, but this addition works on Yandex =o
great job!

And mean!
It was just an example, you're the first smiley-creating person I thought of on the top of my head.
I have no problem with your paladin sprites, just used you as an example ^^

I have found a bug! When you try and put the "Sludge" Emote on, it looks like a tiny white dot.

This practically already exists, it's called adblock plus.

I'll consider it, but as @darthmorf said, it's quite an odd thing to add

:joy:

I just tried it, sludge works fine for me.

Thank you very much for the FF version, I've missed that floating menu so much (from augmentedTO). Great job!

I'm glad there's actually a version for FireFox out. I need to try this out if I remember to, though with my unreliable memory it will be probable that I'll continually forget.
