Game Mechanics Auto trash system

I know that there are mods that have a similar feature, but this should be in the base game. There should be a way to select items to get auto-trashed once they enter the inventory. There should be a similar system to this in journey mode, where the player can auto-trash already researched items to avoid inventory clutter.

i like that idea, but maybe it should be a journey-only thing because it just seems like something to be next to the power menu

I disagree because we already have chest sorting systems (very helpful) that are in all modes, and I feel like those are just QoL too.

We already have encumbering stone, which is basically the same thing. No support.

I feel like an accessory would be better than a free new ability. That at least would make it a choice if you wish to use it rather than something all players can do for free at all times (with no limit on the amount of blacklisted items?). I agree that it is annoying to constantly pick up random items you dont want, but that is why the encumbering stone exists. If you want more precise control, I previously suggested an incinerator/personal deleter similar to the one on hypixel skyblock. I feel like that would be the best way to go about this.

To be honest, I fully forgot that the encumbering stone exists, but I like the incinerator idea, it feels very vanilla friendly!

It's not the same thing. The Encumbering Stone does not allow you to selectively loot items that you actually care about while filtering out everything else.
