Let's start with event banner's.
After collecting all banner's from one event wee should be able to craft one bigger (Let's say 2x3, or maybe 3x3). Keeping buff's intact, but instead of 7 or 8 banner's from some event's, just one.
Only this addition should give us 2 pro's: less space needed and you don't forget any one of them
And 2nd part of it. Those bigger banners should be hard-mode by default, indicates that player already is capable of fighting those event's well enough to kill 50 of even rarest monster of this event.
(looks like I put slime rain and frost legion into "natural occurance" category
)
During placement (so when banner is selected) wee can add option to cycle trough all monsters by pressing rmb to add some spawn rate to that one monster wee need item from
Or to tweak difficulty!
[Goblin invasion banner with new super cool sprite]
<normal> nothing changed here
<goblin peon> Increase spawn rate of goblin peons by X (as wee know how % works that already means that chance to spawn all other monster is lower)
<goblin sorceror> And so on...
This option gives us another 2 pro's: unfavorable RNG can be little less painfull
and additional decoration option's (like placing some parrot banner's in your pirate themed base)
And now Biome banner's.
Same as above. Natural game progression already put all banner's from this category to hard-mode.
Only one con's that I can find atm is that not all monster's/event's can qualify to get their own "big banner" (frost legion, slime rain, goblin scout)
Ok lets move to the [Item Frame], right now wee have outstanding number of 1 shape/material of IF. In the game with so many resources it should be possbile to add -at the very least- another bazilion of IF shapes!
Painting and coating. Some old banners already have interesting shapes, lets add to this new possibilites from 2x3 and/or 3x3 banner's and new IF.
Another thing is color saturation and oryginal banner/IF texture. Maybe using "normal dye" can paint object "fully", so oryginal texture dissapears. And using silvered/darkened dye just put some kind of filter-like colour, so oryginal texture remain... This topic probably already float on the forum somewhere else. (sorry im not a terra-painter)
