Weapons & Equip "Baseball Glove" – Early game throwing accessory (plus upgrades)

Steampunker
An idea for an accessory that makes throwable weapons and items stronger. The idea takes inspiration from @Aceplante post (go check it out).

The Concept:
The Baseball Glove is an early game accessory that can be found in wooden chests. While equipped, your throwable weapons, items, and other consumables will all gain a minor boost to their velocity (+2) and a very small damage buff (+4% ranged damage).
This makes it especially useful early game, not just with shurikens and other throwables, but also other throwing-like weapons and all ranged weapons in general. A full list of affected items Dan be seen below:
Apart from all ranged weapons benefitting from the accessory, these following items are also affected.

Items that benefit greatly from the effects:
  • Shurikens
  • Bones
  • Throwing Knives
  • Poisoned Knives
  • Snowballs
  • Rotten Eggs
  • Paper Airplanes
  • Bone Throwing Knives
  • Spiky Balls
  • Star Anise
  • Javelins
  • Frost Daggerfish
  • Bone Javelins
  • Molotov Cocktails
  • Grenades
  • Happy Grenades
  • Sticky Grenades
  • Bouncy Grenades
  • Beenades
  • Dynamite
  • Ale Tosser (while not a throwable item, it does throw items when used)
  • Etc.....

These items would only benefit from the increased velocity:
  • Magic Dagger
  • Shadowflame Knife
  • Vampire Knives
  • Throwable bottles and potions

You would also be able to craft/combine upgraded versions of the Baseball Glove, all granting new benefits or modifying existing ones.
Pitcher Glove
Crafted by combining a Baseball Glove with 5 vines. It causes all throwable weapons to also apply poisoned effect (and for those that already does that, the effectiveness is increased).
The name is based on a pitcher baseball glove (a type of glove) and the pitcher plant found in jungles.

Webbed Baseball Glove
A hardmode variant crafted by combining a Baseball Glove with 5 Spider Fangs and 20 cobwebs. Wearing it makes all throwing weapons apply a slowness effect and a very small chance to apply the webbed debuff. The name of this upgrade is loosely based on the fact that baseball gloves have different web patterns.

Ghost Pitcher
A hardmode dungeon variant that is crafted by combining a Baseball Glove with 10 Ectoplasma. It greatly increases the velocity even more (an additional +3 bonus), increases the ranged damage bonus to 10%, and gives all compatible weapons and items a slight homing effect.
The name of this upgrade is based on the Ghost Fork pitch, known for its abnormal trajectory (in this case represented as a homing effect)

Combined versions
These variants can be made and combined in any order (similar to obsidian skulls and their many interchanging variants and recipes). Some of these combinations would result in different abilities, though, such as combining the Pitcher and Webbed variants would change the poison effect to Acid Venom.

Obviously, these accessories would quickly grow obsolete in the long run as there are plenty of better accessories.
Therefore I suggest adding a final and ultimate glove that combines all 3 gloves and their effects. The increased velocity and homing effect are kept, while the damage bonus is removed and the debuffs are replaced with a new slowing and DoT debuff that can affect all enemies and bosses (no enemy or boss has immunity to it).
I believe this would at least give it some value/use, and would give a compelling reason to still use throwing weapons during the late game.

So the difference here is a name change (which I admittedly like), and proposed upgrades? Nice, and support this take on it. Thanks for the credit

I don't play baseball, but isn't a baseball glove used to catch balls? :nurseembarrassed:
Other than that, I like the idea!
