Beta Tester Application

Just wanted to add that I'm glad an opportunity like this has opened up. Gives me hope for the Future of Terraria on PC considering the amount of times development has ceased.

As far as I'm aware, development on PC Terraria has only ceased once; between 1.1 and 1.2. Up until that point, and ever since the revival that was 1.2, development has been constant.

At times it seemed like nothing was going on, but it there was a lot going on just no news for weeks on end, not 100% stopped. My bad.

Damn, it's beta test time again? 1.3.6 must be coming smoothly!

Good luck to everyone applying, I'd apply but I doubt I have the time anymore.

I want to apply, but I just don't know if I should. I'm pretty busy all the time and get home late...
But, I could give it a shot maybe.

Good day Terrarians!

Once again, we need beta testers and we're looking to fill the spots with members of our community.

Before you fill out the application, check out the few "must haves"

  • 13 years old +
  • Able to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement). If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will need to sign this legal form on your behalf.
  • Exceptionally knowledgeable of Terraria and the game mechanics
  • Have a significant amount of time played
  • Access to a PC that meets Terraria's minimum requirements for regular testing (PC is a requirement other platforms are a bonus)
  • Willing and able to dedicate a discernible amount of time to testing, recording your feedback, and bug reporting

If you meet these requirements, please complete this application. Do not email or pm staff regarding the applications as we are ONLY accepting candidates via the application process. Please don't comment or pm staff about the status of your application. We will accept applications over the next few days, and will contact candidates next week. We appreciate your patience. As always, thanks for your support!

Is it a test of 1.3.6?

When will the "winners" be drawn, and when is the time period of beta-testing? (eg. 30th of september to 21st december or something)

Ah, silly ol' me didn't read the last line. The second question still stands, however.

Yes, 1.3.6 is the current version being developed. The new testers will be involved in testing the new elements that will be present in 1.3.6.

The people selected will be contacted by email, but it will not be shown publicly who is selected to become testers. They will likely be required to keep it confidential if they do become testers. This was the case last time there was Beta Tester Applications. As for a time period, I do not know when applications will close or when new Testers will be selected and when they begin testing.

Typically, we choose beta testers for the long haul. Anyone who is able to consistently be available, does an okay job testing, and is interested in sticking around is able to stay as a beta tester for as long as they please. We don't require constant presence, but if someone goes inactive for 6-12 months, then yeah, that might be the end.

But we don't do "beta periods" in the sense that testers are only checking things out for limited periods of time.

Hmmm, I meet all the requirements but I was wondering if I would still be able to use a small Acer laptop? (It has windows 10, i5 processor, bought this year & is a 2016 model). And of course, it runs Terraria perfectly at 1080p

I see!
1.3.6 seems to be a big update so I'm looking forward to it:guidepassionate:

Ah, makes sense. Cheers.
