Other Art Big Baby Monopoly: a game I thought of in the shower

An incredibly short and simple game has hit the market for free, and it's already blown up. People are calling it "Lario if the developers cared." Unfortunately, that caused Big Baby Corp (Not their actual name, but everyone calls them that because it fits) to have a temper tantrum because their monopoly on platformers is being threatened. With their deep pockets and expert lobbying skills, they will patent whatever they can to make sure this developer ends up in the gutters.

The game consists of a single platformer level. You are a knight with 3 pieces of armor, each representing 1 HP. No armor is 1 HP remaining. You also have a sword, which lets you attack enemies without needing to jump on them. You also have 3 extra lives, and dying when at 0 is a game over. There is also a time limit, and to make the game actually difficult, everything gets slightly faster each loop.

The first time playing is normal, but every time you finish the level, you start over but Big Baby Corp. patents 3 random game mechanics, removing them from that time playing the level. These can be elements with no gameplay effect like Background Music (every game is cooked!!!) or Plants, leaving the textures barren (Plants appear quite a lot in the Pokemon games) to making the game easier by removing enemies (Nintendo invented them with the og marios bros trust) or removing the speed up for difficulty (Warioware) to making the game harder or tedious by removing HP (any hit is instant death) to removing lives (your lives dont apply on that loop so dying is a game over) to even removing jumping (Nintendo actually considered doing this)

If you can't tell yet, this entire game is a massive jab at greedtendo

A few more things I forgot to mention; the level's design is built in a way where its theoretically possible with any combination of patents, such as maybe a secret room with really light slopes that take really long to walk up but you can still beat the level without jumping

also, I'd say the probably most difficult combination is no HP, no lives, and no weapon

Maybe instead of the patents being three random ones every loop, there could be one random feature added to the list of patents every loop? That way, the game would get progressively harder as it continues.
To counteract this, perhaps there would be new features added every so often in order to make the game beatable despite the patents. For instance, a jump patent with no weapon patent could be solved by making the weapon collide with the ground or have recoil.

EDIT: And maybe the new features would be chosen by a poll, within a fictitious “social media website” separate from the platformer level. (For balance reasons, the poll would be rigged so that the player’s choice would always win immediately and be implemented.)

Idk but if I can't think of anything else I could think of certain features existing only to counter the patents and can't be removed as they only exist to make the game possible with certain combinations and are only active when said combinations appear
