that is... if you even get a pirate invasion, and the fact that nerfing this mount only made people move closer to wings again

Pirate maps are incredibly easy to obtain, plus if a mount is strong enough to outclass wings (and still lets you use any item) than it will always be overpowered because the only way it can do that is if it either has literally instantaneous acceleration or ridiculous speed.

Or, you know, you could use it for building... or hovering out of reach of figher ai... or dodging simple projectiles like the Ice Golem's...

Nothing wrong with focus being on wings, after all I’m 90% sure that focus is *supposed* to be on wings considering how there are 30 odd types.

Also, its poor accelaration meant jack when you could simply outfly anything. It was faster than any single mech boss, Queen Slime, Moonlord’s True Eyes, Martian Saucer’s second form, and all but like one of the Empress’s attacks. You could simply get to speed and kite the boss and get hit literally never, and that’s even if you didn’t have access to the dash trick.

Not at the very start of hardmode with no progression skips whatsoever.

Honestly, it was only good if you didn’t explore the map fully (which you should have by now), then it’s useless
