Blizzard will not occur

I have been trying to get a blizzard to start In the snow biome but it just doesn't seem to want to happen. I've waited till it started raining in pre hardmode and in hardmode and both will not work. I desperately want the frost armor from the frost golems

A Blizzard is almost the same as regular snow, just only that it will snowing just slightly more.

its hard to notice. but as soon as it starts raining in hardmode only. go to your ice biomes surface and wait with a battle potion or blue candles. ice golems will come but theyre rarer mobs. be prepared.
