I have a question: how, exactly, did you create the table used for all the sets? I'm thinking of putting a similar one on my pixel art thread once I have the appropriate amount of sprites.
Which one? (there's at least 2)I have a question: how, exactly, did you create the table used for all the sets? I'm thinking of putting a similar one on my pixel art thread once I have the appropriate amount of sprites.
I mean the table that has an "armor" column, "sword," "staff" and so on.Which one? (there's at least 2)
Oh, and I did these a while ago, but I forgot to upload them

If you're talking about the giant one at the very bottom, I just made a grid in photoshop (square first, then a row, then the whole grid; mostly through copy and paste)I mean the table that has an "armor" column, "sword," "staff" and so on.
Ah, thanks. I'll try something like that.If you're talking about the giant one at the very bottom, I just made a grid in photoshop (square first, then a row, then the whole grid; mostly through copy and paste)
I made it large enough to accommodate most of my sprites, but some of them are too big, and I have to find creative ways of making them fit, and still look good
I've been meaning to address this for a while, and I'll bet to it tomorrow when I have timeToo bad they're on hold, because these are awesome! When do you think you'll be open again?
They all seem to be different. First is Meteor? Last is Molten (or Meteor, given that it uses the improved color)?I've been meaning to address thos fpr a while, and I'll bet to it tomorrow when I have time
Also, to everyone who sees this, which one?

I think the second one, to be honest. It looks cool, without straying *too* far from the original sprite.I've been meaning to address thos fpr a while, and I'll bet to it tomorrow when I have time
Also, to everyone who sees this, which one?
View attachment 48330
Hmm... that's a good question. The first one is definitely the closest to the original sprite, and the third one matches the meteorite equipment (while the second is somewhere in between)... I don't think the last one would work though, that one would make more sense to replace hellstone or be an entirety new ore.I've been meaning to address thos fpr a while, and I'll bet to it tomorrow when I have time
Also, to everyone who sees this, which one?

Thanks for the Quick feedback guys So far, I'm liking the second one best-snip-
I see your point It just always confused me that meteorite ore/bars were a brownish purple, and the armor and tools were more of a blue... I was mostly just experimenting a bitProbably the first one, assuming this is all meant to be meteorite. Meteorite is described as being "warm to the touch" and the other three look way too hot. They all look really good, I'm just not sure the brighter ones work on a thematic level.
Hmm... that's an interesting though...Honestly, they'd make a good progression, like different 'tiers' of meteor that can fall depending on the game's difficulty, with the first one being the default, existing meteorite.
The third bar definitely looks like it goes with the color scheme of the tools and armor. Overall, I'd say the fourth one looks the least like Meteorite.I see your point It just always confused me that meteorite ore/bars were a brownish purple, and the armor and tools were more of a blue... I was mostly just experimenting a bit
Hmm... that's an interesting though...
can i use all 4 bars? :OI've been meaning to address thos fpr a while, and I'll bet to it tomorrow when I have time

-Introduction-
(please read)
Note- Requests are currently on-hold, I have a lot to do, and I need to catch up
Greetings fellow Terrarians! My name is Brutallama. I am an established sprite artist from the old forums, many of you may know me, many of you may not. With the new forums, I've decided to Re-launch my sprite thread, as it had fallen into disuse.
With my new thread, many things will change. first of all, I will not take requests, but I will take suggestions. this means that you can suggest ideas, rather than specific things for me to create. If I find the idea interesting, challenging, fun, etc. I may decide to make it, or my interpretation of it.
Another thing that came up a lot was mods. I am currently the one and only spriter for the Thorium Mod. I do not intend to work on any other mods anytime soon. Any currently implemented items will be in the "Thorium Mod Stuff" section.
The Game Improvements section is where I will post re-skins of existing items and enemies in vanilla Terraria. They will all be added to a texture pack that is currently in development by @SzGamer227. When it is finished I will post a link to it here.
Finally; advise. A lot of beginning spriters came to me asking for help, and I'd love to give it! Also, Balduran made a wonderful beginners guide to spriting here.
Without further ado... behold, the most brutal sprites on these forums!

Pre-Hardmode armor remakes- I wasn't quite satisfied with the early armors and tools, so I improved them as much as I could while staying true to their original designs (Felmale sprites by @m31k)
View attachment 3420 View attachment 3421 View attachment 3419
with the additions of the 3 new hardmode ores, the old armors really began to show their age, so I "amped" the up
View attachment 3437
the shadow tools needed an overhaul, so I made all of the existing tools match the new Light's Bane
View attachment 10097
Molten Tools- same boat as the shadow tools

Meteor Tools and Phaseblades/sabers- recolors, added details, consistent color schemes. Just little improvements.

Muramasa- The "new" muramasa looked worse than the old one in my opinion, so I took care of that
View attachment 20549
Vanilla Item Reskins- Many of the in-game items that I think look either a bit lackluster, or just bad...
View attachment 19736 View attachment 19734
Skeletron: revamped- You gotta admit, the first time you fought Skeletron you pooped your pants a little, so making him look a bit more intimidating and sexy can't hurt. And his prime version is now truly prime
View attachment 19733
Destroyer: revamped- Skeletron couldn't let his good old friend The Destroyer go without a makeover too
Can I have a watery armor set that looks like its made of waves?
These two are good examples of more abstract suggestions. Ideas that intrigue me, things that I would want to make because I find them interesting. Most other suggestions just have... no appeal. It's not that I don't want to do them, I want to make you guys happy, but I just can't push myself to work on them. To be entirely honest, this was one of the factors that got me burned out. And I don't want to be there again, it wasn't fun. I would love to sprite all the time, and sprite what you guys want, but I just feel obligated to an uncomfortable extent when I receive so many suggestions. These are really great. As far as suggestions, I have a few general ideas of things that would be cool to see. Nothing I'd say I'm asking for, just some "what if" concepts to maybe give you some ideas. Hopefully, you don't feel like I'm swamping you. I realize that I'm casting a pretty wide net, but it's mostly meant to just be something you can, hopefully, take inspiration from.
- It's always kind of bugged me that the gears don't make any equipment.
- The Lizhard temple has a cool style, mixing ancient with futuristic, so what would a Lizhard set look like?
- If you can make things out of ectoplasm, why not purely out of souls?
- Where's the blacksmi- I mean alloys? We have all the ingredients for things like Steel, Brass, Electrum, etc...
- Has the Travelling Merchant been skipping the Americas?
- We have light disks. What would other holographic/hardlight stuff look like?
Different versions of meteorite I was experimenting a bitAwesome! What are those bars?
Nope I've never really done many armor animationsIf I may ask, do any of these armors have the frames for them done?
