Weapons & Equip Buff the Cursed Flames!

Right now the Cursed Flames are vastly outclassed by its crimson equivalent, the Golden Shower. There's basically no reason to use it at all. There is also a lack of magic piercing weapons in its tier.
Here are a few ideas for buffing the Cursed Flames:

The Cursed Flames is able to pierce 4 enemies as usual, but that the pierces should reset after each bounce.

The projectile explodes, either after 5 enemies have been damaged (without a bounce in case this suggestion is combined with the one abobe) or after all 4 bounces, which would damage all enemies in an AoE.

The projectile can pierce unlimited enemies.

The projectile is not longer affected by gravity, which basically makes it a faster, better water bolt.

(NOTE: The various ideas are separate, they aren't meant to be added all at the same time. They are simply proposed alternatives.)

While at it, change the DoT debuffs (like Cursed Inferno) to deal percentage damage instead of the pitiful 4 DP per second. Sure, they make short work of normal enemies, but setting a boss ablaze at most works as a beacon for seeing it in the dark.

Cursed flames is an early hardmode weapon and this being a factor i don't think it needs a buff as it can already bounce of floors walls and ceilings making it great for early hardmode crowd control with a reasonable amount of damage even though the golden shower is a lot better it is still a great early hardmode weapon

He litteraly just said it works great for mobs, just not for bosses.
 
Change Cursed Flames so they spread to other enemies on contact? (If an enemy afflicted with Cursed Flames touches another enemy, then the other enemy also gets Cursed Flames. Could spread between player/player and player/enemy too.) If it uses percentage damage attack, this could be useful for crowd control.

Cursed Flames would be a great weapon if it actually pierced 4 enemies. As for now, it only pierces once.

Strangely, wiki says:
Its fireballs can ricochet four times, dissipating on their fifth impact, or pierce four times, dissipating on the fifth enemy hit.
and then shows that:

Proposed changes are cool though. However, they don't solve Cursed Inferno vs Ichor inequality much. Tweaking the debuff itself might be a better idea which would indirectly buff this spell book. Adding damage depending on enemy's max health would suffice, but not like on pre-1.3 mobile where DOTs burnt through any health pool in constant time. DOT debuffs damage should grow nonlinearly.
