Weapons & Equip Buffing or reworking mostly ignored weapons and armour

Weapons that need a rework or buff: ghastly glaive, onyx blaster (increase to the dark shot range), bladetongue, rainbow gun, tempest staff, eventide, daedalus stormbow, staff of the frost hydra, pirate/pygmy staffs, raven staff, stardust cell staff, aqua scepter, frost staff, nebula Arcanum, sky dragons fury, obsidian swordfish, minishark, weather pain, leather whip and some plantera and golem weapons.

Armour that needs a rework or buff: bee armour, ninja armour, forbidden armour, (healer) spectre armour, spooky armour (whip range) and pearlwood armour

Note* This is just a list of stuff to talk about buffing and/or reworking and I'm not trying to shove this onto the devs because they do more than enough for the fans

To rework something unused but readily available, one should cull it from unused and barely available.
(healer) spectre armour
How so? Didn't gave it a spin yet - but to the naked eye looks like it's absolutely fine 'as is'. Unique dedicated full-support armor set. We need more like that, not a rework of that.
bee armour
In excellent place right now. Nothing to buff, honestly.
ninja armour
In a good spot already, IMHO. For lucky player, it's vanity set. For unlucky yet skilled, a nice starter.
and pearlwood armour
Coming up next: a rework of Miner Set. . .

That's what I thought too (I haven't tried it much either) but supposedly there was a ton of controversy and the armor kept getting changed until it ended up in apparently a really lame spot. Maybe I should try going for it at some point just to see for myself though.

Maybe you should.
Even with current handicaps, a healing source which scales well with weirdest guns available AND heals your teammates for you, in a lifeleech starved gameplay, is a really powerful and unusual tool.
I'd be really glad to see its heal per second cap (technically, it's a completely different mechanism - but it's preferrable to call it that just for better understanding) removed.
But then it'll start obliterating things in combo with Zapinator (which is a cheesy thing on its own) and other magic weaponry with excellent burst damage.

Specter armor is fine it doesn’t need a rework and I know this since I’ve beaten the game using this armor as a mage. It’s alright how it is. So yeah I agree with you

Seedler should be able to be fished from Bramble Crates or have like a 0.5% drop from Hardmode Jungle enemies. The fact that it’s post-Plantera and has such little usage needs to be changed. It needs to be available at the beginning of Hardmode.

Ghastly Glaive: No, not really. It can be obnoxious to get, but if you're doing the Old One's Army, you have to accept that. It's a close-range crowd control weapon, and for where it is in the game, it does the job just fine.

Onyx Blaster: This weapon is fantastic, what are you talking about? High damage, great against single enemies and bosses, ammo efficient. If the dark shot went farther it would just get better, and it really doesn't need it.

Bladetongue: This weapon is great. Higher damage and a better projectile than the Beam Sword. Melee players find ichor extremely useful, and the trade-off of it being a sort of small sword makes it balanced. It's good as it is.

Rainbow Gun: All this needs is a longer duration. 20 seconds is too short. If it was 1 minute it would be good. Any longer and you start to have diminishing returns.

Tempest Staff: I'm assuming we're comparing this to the Xeno Staff, yes? Quite honestly, all this needs is an accuracy boost. It's damage is high enough, and it also does contact damage if you're in close quarters.

Eventide: lmao

Daedalus Stormbow: lmao

Staff of the Frost Hydra: People have talked about this getting buffed on the forum before, but I've yet to see a really good way for it to be done. It's damage is high, it has piercing, it inflicts Frostbite, it can hit any enemy within its view, and it fires quickly. I'm not sure what more people want, unless they think it's stats still aren't good enough. I'm not saying it's amazing or a "meta pick" or anything, but it's not bad.

Pirate/Pygmy Staff: eh... yeah, ok. I love the Pygmies, but I have to admit that they're a bit weak. And the Pirates are almost never worth using over the spiders. A rework is certainly in order here, for them to remain competitive.

Raven Staff: Honestly, no. Ravens outclass Deadly Spheres entirely, and are better crowd control than the Xeno Staff. They're a bit hard to get, but I don't hold that against them, since Summoners are doing the Pumpkin Moon a lot anyway. I think people have forgotten that the Ravens were at one point the best summon in the game, and they've since been buffed.

Stardust Cell: Yes, I agree. Compared to it's big brother Stardust Dragon, these things are not good. It's a real shame because I don't think they're bad, but the other option is just so much better. And don't get me started on the Terraprisma, which is their other competition in terms of DPS. I think the Cell staff needs a rework for sure.

Aqua Scepter: No, this doesn't need a buff. It's good at locking enemies in place and it's damage is competitive. It even has great piercing and mana efficiency.

Frost Staff: Has anyone used this weapon lately? Because I have, and I gotta tell you, it's excellent. I got it right at the start of Hardmode on my recent Mage playthrough (Legendary difficulty) and it stayed in my inventory until I beat Plantera. It's fast, strong, efficient, and inflicts a debuff. This weapon is very underrated.

Nebula Arcanum: I see where you're coming from. It's expensive and cumbersome to use, and at the point in the game where you get it, most enemies are too fast for it to do any real damage. But the thing is, when it does get to do its thing, it does it extremely well. Genuinely, all this weapon needs is an increase in turn speed, and we'll see it do much better.

Sky Dragon's Fury: Again, have you used this lately? It's DPS is nuts. Enormous melee damage for this point in the game, very fast attack speed, and while it's range is bad, that's just the tradeoff you have to make. It has the right-click attack too, but honestly I use that less just because the regular attack shreds enemies so fast. Do not buff.

Obsidian Swordfish: All this needs is to be more common. You're trading attack range for high crit chance and damage, and that's fine for tanky players.

Minishark: Nah, man. This thing is good. Slap some meteor shot on it and call it a day.

Weather Pain: I don't know, man, it has armor piercing and it chases enemies for a pretty long time, especially for a weapon you can get so early. I don't think it doesn't need a buff, but how would we go about it without making it too strong?

Leather Whip: This thing doesn't need a rework, it needs to be relevant at all. Snapthorn outclasses it in literally every category, including accessibility.

"Some Plantera and Golem weapons"? I'll need you to be more specific there, chief.

Bee armor: No, it's very good as it is. It outdamages Obsidian Outlaw armor, at the cost of whip speed, and in a lot of situations Summoners should really be keeping distance anyway.

Ninja armor: Again, no. Class-neutral armor that gives big early-game crit chance and movement speed. If you're good, it's good, and if you're not, it's vanity.

Forbidden armor: It's a dual-class armor with good stats and a great set bonus. It clowns on Destroyer, too. I don't see any need for improvement here.

Spectre armor (healer): lmao

Spooky armor (whip range): If we increased the whip range of Spooky armor, it would just beat Tiki armor outright. I personally really like the way Summoners have to choose between whip buffs and minion buffs. I'm a minion enjoyer myself.

Pearlwood armor: Dude, no. Why do people want this to be good? Nobody has ever tried to use it, and nobody should try to use it. It's god damn regular wood armor in Hardmode. It's not supposed to be good. It wouldn't even be good in pre-Hardmode. Iron armor is better. Can we stop pretending we want this?

Most of the weapon buffs are supposed to be speed, range or damage. For example the raven staff barely hits when returning to you from afar and the tempest staff can't shoot with enough velocity and it can't shoot accurately you go too fast, the weather pain needs to be able to have more than one projectile existing at a time and have higher velocity, for the daedalus stormbow I was talking more about holy arrows but it could use a slightly higher arrow amount rng or higher accuracy, the aqua scepter obsidian swordfish, leather whip pirate, nebula Arcanum, pygmy, frost hydra, staffs need full reworks or all around massive buffs, bladetongue needs to shoot the projectile without have to hit with a melee hit and it would be cool if it and all the spears I mentioned and the influx waver got the little energy thing at the end of their blades, and for golem and plantera weapons it's the golems fist, heat ray, leaf blower, boulder staff, nettle burst, grenade launcher, seedler and stynger. The minishark should have slightly higher damage as the undertaker is better now.

For the armour the pearlwood could be for building instead of mining and the buff for the healer spectre armour would be faster heal projectile speed so it can reach you without you running into what's chasing you, for the bee armour it needs to be as good as obsidian Outlaw armor, for ninja armour it needs to be as good as fossil armour.

No, they really don't need these buffs. Raven Staff isn't supposed to hit when returning to you, it's supposed to attack after it returns, like all other summons that aren't the Stardust Dragon. Weather Pain getting even two projectiles would make it the strongest crowd control magic weapon in pre-Hardmode, which doesn't make sense since it's a Deerclops drop. Daedalus Stormbow does not need a buff of any kind, don't make me laugh. Bladetongue not shooting a projectile if it doesn't hit is what keeps it balanced; if it did, it would literally just be free Ichor for all classes. And I see no reason to give it and the Influx Waver "the little energy thing." I will admit that the spears you mentioned could use that little energy thing, yes. Not all of those Golem/Plantera weapons even want buffs; Heat Ray, Boulder Staff, and Stynger are all good weapons, and the Seedler is really not that bad. The Minishark does not need a damage increase. I tested this myself, just now, before writing this comment; the Minishark has better DPS than the Undertaker by quite a lot against enemies without defense, with regular musket balls, and it only needs a small amount of armor penetration to outclass it against defense-having enemies. By the time that really matters, though, you're gonna be getting better weapons than either of them anyway. For all the other weapons, please explain how you'd like to buff them, but just know that I disagree with the majority of them needing buffs or reworks in the first place.

And the armors really don't need buffs either. Bee armor already competes with Obsidian armor, Spectre armor is balanced by the healing not being able to outspeed you, Ninja armor absolutely does not need to be as good as Fossil armor (and where did this discussion of Ninja armor even come from??), and Pearlwood armor seriously does not need to be good at anything, it's wood armor.

Redigit said that the obsidian swordfish was going to get "looked at", which to my interpretation means changes to make it a viable spear for late pre-hardmode (maybe up to WoF?)

Obsidian Swordfish is Hardmode at the moment. Thinking about it again, while making it more common would help a lot, it's range is too short for even a close-range fighter in most difficulties. I was wrong, it does need a real buff.
