Bug with mysterious portal

During the Old One's Army event, the mysterious portals sometimes have speech bubbles appear inside them like they're an npc. I assume that is how the mysterious portals work, is that they are npcs, but I don't think the speech bubble is supposed to be inside them.

Can you provide a picture? Are you using a legit terraria version or is there a chance yours is pirated? Is your memory capacity full?

what are the speech bubbles?
after defeating a mech. boss, there's an enemy that creates an exclamation mark speech bubble when attacking.
if you're only seeing those it's probably not the portal creating them.

A bit blurry but the portal has a speech bubble in it. I noticed that it only seemed to appear when a wave started, but I don't know if that correlates or not. My version is not pirated, I was gifted it from a friend on steam. I don't think my memory capacity is full either.

It also sometimes appears when enemies are coming out of the portal. It might come from the enemies, but I've never seen enemies create speech bubbles before.

Does it display anything else other than exclamation marks because the enemies with the speech bubble have ! in them. Does it last for a little while or the whole time?

It doesn't display anything other than exclamation marks. It only lasts for a second or so.

That is exactly what the enemy does. If I had to guess the game gets confused and displays that thinking that it is the enemy. Does it happen when the player is close or just at random?

exactly what i expected, just a kobloid spawning and getting angry immediately.
