Ever wanted to place, say, a piggy bank, a pot, a candle, or some other platform exclusive block, but didn't want to have the platform or table in the way? Here's a technique you can use to make it 100% decorational!
- You need platforms of any kind, and a mechanic.
Simply place a platform (this doesn't work with tables) anywhere and put your item of choice on the platform. Then put actuators on the platforms and wire it up to any kind of switch.
Then activate the switch and remove all the wiring. Now you can't interact with the platform but still have the item suspended in the air!
A few notes on this technique:
- This doesn't count as the flat surface requirement for NPC homes.
- As far as I know, this doesn't work with chests or material bars.
- You are unable to place the item after using actuators on it. Make sure you don't have to move the item afterwards or you will have to start all over again.
- You can plant seeds into clay pots on actuated platforms. Wild flowers also grow as usual.
