IMPORTANT: The mod has unfortunately been cancelled due to stagnating progress and general lack of direction in the team. The post will remain up for archival purposes but the mod itself is otherwise defunct. Fortunately, assets from it will be repurposed in several other projects that were kind enough to house some of our content.
Ethereal Horizons
Ethereal Horizons is a new work in progress mod, aiming to add high-quality content in
Terraria, featuring new unique mechanics and fun, balanced gameplay.
This mod will add:
- Plenty of new items, weapons, accessories, and others to help you on your journey
- New subclasses, such as the Daggers, melee subclass, and the Archbows, ranged subclass
- Many new mechanics such as Cooking or Scrolls, that enhance your gameplay experience
- New minibosses, bosses, and an entire event for you to fight and grow stronger
- Diverse structures and ruins scattered across the land, most containing loot or secrets to unfold
The Lumberjack Set is the first set Melee/Ranged users should aim for.
Currently, it is crafted with wood, nuts (dropped from trees) and silk, and consists of:
The Lumberjack Armor, an armor set that gives melee/ranged bonuses, and summons a sentient axe
The Wallnut, a flail that spins around the player before being shot forward
The Sharpnut Spear, a swift spear to help along with your early troubles
The Chestnut Launcher, shoots out nut missiles that split after going through a certain distance
Hazelnut Archbow, one of the archbows in the mod. Charged Shots release a group of nuts alongside arrows
The Everbloom Set is the first set mage/summoners should aim for. Yes, summoners are finally getting love
Currently, it is crafted with Scattered Flowers, a material that spawns on forest biomes, and on flower grottos, and leaves, which are obtained from breaking trees. The set currently consists of:
The Everbloom Armor, a mage/summon armor that gives buffs depending on day or night time.
The Resplendent Bloom, a staff that shoots a spread of petals. Shoots more the longer you hold
The Tome of Growth, a tome that shoots slow-moving petals.
The Charming Bush, a weapon that summons flowers that are attached to your body to attack nearby enemies
Bloom Eater Staff, summons a sentry to shoot bursts of petals at nearby enemies
The Trailblazer Set is another set you can obtain considerably early, by either finding them in campsite structures or getting them to drop from Undead Adventurers. They currently focus on exploring, having the following items:
The Trailblazer armor, an armor set that not only boosts movement speed and jump speed but also summons a lantern pet to light your way
The Traveler's Lantern, an item that summons living embers. You can left-click to send one of them to a position, and right-click to call them to you
The Hitman's Gambit, a dagger that marks the first enemy it hits. Marked enemies take 10% more damage. The player cannot mark multiple enemies
The Huntsman, an archbow. Charged Shots are overheated, causing sparks to fall off from the charged arrows, much like the North Pole's snowflakes
The Bluntline, a close-range but powerful gun that shoots out an explosion-like burst projectile
Biome Changes: Forest. The forest biome now contains a few new things:
Scattered Flowers can now appear across the forest biome, waiting to be harvested. They also are occasionally pollinated by Hummingblooms
Flower Grottos can appear on the forest biomes as a small entrance on the surface, branching down into a sort of cave system.
Campsites can spawn between the surface and the underground, not spawning that deep. They contain backpacks and further loot inside of them.
A special living tree will spawn in worlds, with an entrance to a different temple at its roots, said temple is where a certain gluttonous deity rests, waiting to be awakened.
Biome Changes: Desert. The desert biome also contains a few new things:
Sandstorms are now deadlier! New enemies, such as the Antlion Behemoths, Sandback Spiders, and Empyreal Eagles
The Dustified Caverns is a new biome spawning under the underground desert, consisting of Aetherous Soil, Huskstone, falling blocks (Soot Shales) and the new crystals that are the focus of the biome, Dustilite Crystals, that seems to be connected to the sentient enemies in some way or another.
So far the mod is not released just yet on the browser, however, we are constantly releasing spoilers and
