Wavebank Cave Story! (multiple versions inside)

GaviGuy

Terrarian
I present to you my second released set of wave banks, this time featuring the wonderful game Cave Story.
The mix of fast-paced and atmospheric music in the soundtrack makes for excellent Terraria material.

I'm releasing multiple versions, as there are multiple soundtrack versions to this game:

Pixel's soundtrack, used in the original 2004 release, features a retro soundfont used to make simple, catchy, energetic tunes.
Yann van der Cruyssen's version, featured in many later Nicalis releases, utilizes new and old sounds in a richer, more ambient collection.
Danny Baranowsky's version, used in the 3DS and some Nicalis releases, stays more faithful to Pixel's original while modernizing the instrumentation.
Ridiculon's version, based in heavy metal, was used only for the Nintendo Switch release.
Famitracks, by RushJet11, features older NES instrumentation in perhaps the most faithful recreation of Pixel's music.

This initial release of wave banks will only feature Pixel and Yann van der Cruyssen's versions. Expect more in the future!

Pixel's own work.

As is the nature with these songs, Terraria looping fails to recreate looping as it would be in Cave Story. I successfully created seamless loops, but said loops will replay song intros. This is unavoidable.

Ikachan's Theme only exists in this version of the soundtrack, and is a reference to Pixel's game, Ikachan.
White is pulled from the original soundtrack. Despite this, it is used in-game for the "new" version.
The same applies to Wind Fortress, except it pulls from the "remastered" version by Danny B.

Installing these Wave Banks is simple to do:
  1. Locate your Terraria content folder. For most people, this is found at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Terraria\Content
  2. (Recommended) Back up your original Wave Bank.xwb file.
  3. Download the version of your choice above, making sure not to rename it.
  4. Replace the original Wave Bank.xwb with the one you downloaded.
From there, your Terraria should launch as normal. If the game fails to launch or won't allow you to unmute music in the settings, something went wrong.
Feel free to reach out if you can't solve this issue.

Finally, please feel free to leave feedback in the comments below. I appreciate any error reports, and would be happy
to accommodate any requests for different track orders, track modifications, or unique mixes.
Wave Banks take a long time to make, but they are very easy to modify.

Expect more versions in the future!

Interesting... some of the music in Cave Story, in my opinion, is a bit lackluster as to use it in Terraria (ie. Access). I am going to test it in game and see how well it works :D

Yeah, I tried to strike a balance between getting all the songs and not using the short ones. Most of the lesser known, shorter songs are used for events that don't happen often.
