Weapons & Equip Chain-Sword, Poseidon's Trident, and Spectral Veil: Three Potential Upgrades to Forgotten Weapons.

Entei/Z

Terrarian
As you all know, many weapons get left in the dark, overshadowed by most weapons that dominate or overrule in a certain area of the game. I'm here with 2 potential upgrades to weapons or combined weapons that hopefully will make the game more fun.

First Weapon: Chain-Sword

97 melee damage
150% axe power
7% critical strike chance
Press (keybind) to throw the chainsaw blade.
Press (keybind) to chop trees down.
Best Modifier: Legendary

Tooltip: "I might lose a couple fingers using this"

It is used like a regular chainsaw.

Crafted with 10 Souls of Might, Adamantium/Titanium Sword, and the Sawtooth Shark at an Orichalcum or Mythril Anvil.
Post-Plantera weapon.

(New)
Second Weapon: Poseidon's Trident

76 melee damage, 82 with movement in water.
6% critical strike chance, 12% as it increases with movement in water.
In water, you can dash (much like Shield of Cthulu) and deal twice the amount of damage to the enemy.
In a lightning storm, you have a 25% chance to charge the Trident, and throw it, causing lightning to strike.
Best Modifier: Godly or Legendary

Tooltip: "A mighty god once held this weapon, now you hold it in your grasp"

Or

"This is the biggest fork I've ever used."

Crafted with the Trident, 20 Emeralds or Sapphires, 20 Adamantium/Titanium Bars at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil
Pre-Mech Boss weapon.

New Weapon: Spectral Veil

103 Magic damage
5% Critical Strike Chance
Best Modifier: Mythical

Tooltip: "I am the embodiment of the rainbow"

Crafted with the following staffs: Amethyst Staff, Emerald Staff, Sapphire Staff, Topaz Staff, Diamond Staff, Amber Staff, Ruby Staff.

(Only one per craft, any can be used)

Ten Souls of Sight, and 20 Hallowed Bars
Crafted at a Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil
Post Mech Boss

Fires a ray of color from it's staff head, the odd chance (15%) of a random debuff being inflicted to players and other entities.
Uses 15 Mana

I took some time to add some more detail, and i will be adding updates for the previous two weapons, "image wise"

( I did this on Pixilart, and it was on a phone.)

Let me know what you think!

Those stats are obviously much too high. Post-mech boss is far, far too early for 130+ damage and that kind of crit chance.

Thats honestly a sick design but melee has way more than enough basic swords

Spears are lacking but you decided to add one at the one stage in the game where there are four to choose from (gungnir, mushroom spear, chlorophyte partisan and ghastly glaive)

also yeah the stats are too much

@J Bame, Oh, ok. I forgot that there are four spears by the time you beat the mech bosses. Maybe it could be a work-around for the beginning of Pre-Hardmode, without the Hallow bars, replace them with Adamantium or Titanium. I'm new to creating weapons for the Forums. Thanks for your feedback!

Sorry @Big Sammich, I didnt see your reply, I wanted to keep it in the same range, (well, sort of) as Pre-Mech boss and Pre-Plantera. These were my general ideas, but I believe with my previous reply, that the weapon (Poseidon's Trident) could be early Pre-Hardmode, and swap out the Hallow Bars for Adamantium or Titanium Bars. The damage could be around 80 to 83 base damage. Thank you for your feedback, much appreaciated!

I have edited the Poseidon's Trident to have a base damage of 89, if that helps!

i feel like if the trident had a water dash or something like riptide for minecraft it would be worth it and a chainsword could also be useful if it cut trees i think that would be the only tool sword in the game

@random terraria fan Well, what I intended the Chain-Sword to do was to have a "Tree Mode", so if you pressed a keybind, it would chop trees down, having an axe power of 150%, and sure, I can edit the post for the Poseidon's Trident, I'm wondering if the water-dash could work like the Shield of Cthulu. Thanks for your feedback! Definitely adding the Water-Dash and Tree idea!

thanks
Poseidon's Trident, I'm wondering if the water-dash could work like the Shield of Cthulu
even if its not exactly like riptide it should still have the all directions thing and a cool particle effect

I just noticed that there is already the Titanium Trident. 😅 Maybe Poseidon's Trident could possibly be an upgrade to that.

Cool concepts, but a bit unbalanced and honestly pretty much bloat items for the stage of the game they get obtained.

chainsword goes unbelievably hard

@Stellar Mastodon 267 How unbalanced are they? I can change and modify them if you'd like.

I'm also thinking of removing the Broken Armor or Bleeding debuffs from the Chain-Sword.

Let me know, and I'd be happy to listen!

Most weapons don’t breach the 80 base damage mark until post Plantera is the main thing. And yeah the debuff probably aren’t the most useful given how few enemies they actually apply to.

@Stellar Mastodon 267 Ah, understood. I'll change the Chain-Sword so there is no debuff, and thank you for the information! I'll adjust the weapons accordingly! Thank you!

what if on chainsword no matter which power you use it both cut down trees and damaged enemys

@random terraria fan That could work! I think it would work quite well with the design after all lol!

Hello everyone! I will be on vacation for the next three days, so if you have suggestions, please let me know now and I'll be trying to respond as soon as I can! Feel free to respond anyways!
