Clockwork Assault Rifle Is OVERPOWERED. I love it!

I'm using this thing with ranged hallow armor on mechanical bosses and planters! This is a drop from a pre hard mode boss! It destroys things better than my UNREAL MEGASHARK! I heard it was good but this is insane... I love it​

It technically isn't Pre-hardmode since its dropped as Hardmode is activated.

Not really that good for me due to that it fires three bullets then a one or two second delay follows. Plus you need good aim.

Megashark is slightly better. But I agree, CAR is OP compared to Breaker Blade and (maybe) laser rifle.

Not quite. Megashark deals 214dps compared to CAR's 131dps, not countign any ammo. Megashark is also a lot more effective when Crystal Bullets are used due to the higher fire rate. Laser Rifle deals 145dps and can hit up to two targets, CAR with pretty much any kind of ammo, but Laser Rifle's dps essentially doubles when hitting two targets.

Not entirelly, but their dps values are pretty close. Phoenix Blaster does penetrate defense slightly better, use more ammo, has lots of knockback and will murder your finger.

CAR is one of my favorite weapons\. It makes such satisfying sounds.

It may be weaker than other guns available, but it's still pretty nice at conserving ammo.

Megashark kinda kicks its , as well as the of every other weapon in the first half of hardmode, quite handily.

I just beat all 3 mech bosses three times in a row with CAR and chlorophyte ammo/armor.

I love the CAR, it was pretty much the only weapon I used with Exploding Bullets up to about hardmode dungeon when I was waiting for 1.3.

I equate the clockwork assault rifle to getting a gold only drop in WoW. But phoenix blaster is pretty bad too.

I tried the CAR and I used all 400 in addition to the fact that I had only taken down Spazmatism. The Megashark is made out of Souls of Might from the Destroyer and the CAR is a drop from WOF. Megashark is slightly harder to obtain, but you know what they say "Hard work forever pays."

Megashark is many tiers above CAR. Rocket science states higher tiered weapons out-perform previous tiers.

I agree! I love this weapon, this is my favorite gun! You can kill Duke Fishron with this weapon if you are skilled! Just the fact that it shoots quick, consumes little ammo, and is so easy to get makes it a great weapon for defeating early HM threats. The damage is a little low, but you can easily fix that with some good ranged equipment. Question is, can Moon Lord be defeated with this weapon?

I have used this weapon to kill Duke Fishron premechanical boss so I would say its pretty overpowered and I have proof I did it
I just wish Relogic would make the 3 WoF weapon drops be equal in usefulness

Wow, that's quite impressive! I do agree with you about the WoF weapons though. The laser rifle is fast, and pierces, but does terrible damage, and eats mana. And the breaker blade? Instantly outclassed by the night's edge.

Still consider Megashark superior to the Assault Rifle, but up to that point the Rifle wrecks face.
