An additional feature for the Coin Gun to make ammo management easier.
During events or exploration, trying to keep the same ammo for the coin gun can be very tedious, where the player has to keep a constant eye on the inventory in order to make sure they aren't using the wrong bullets. Realising you've been firing copper coins for the past five minutes, or worse, accidentally firing a platinum coin at an enemy (and possibly missing the shot) can be devastating, especially in the platinum coin's case when the player doesn't have enough money to spare. Furthermore, as soon as you pick up any money, which happens quite literally all the time, the coins are all shuffled about, making the player have to re check what coin value they are using.
Hence, I would suggest a way to select the coin type being used by the coin gun with a hotkey, while the gun is being selected in the hotbar or inventory. I'm not entirely sure what hotkey would be most convenient; I'll designate it to 'G' for now. Upon pressing the hotkey, the coin gun will change its 'ammo type' (defaulting as copper coins and cycling up the value of coins as it does this, as well as a default mode where the Coin Gun simply retains its old features). This could be indicated with the respective coin sprite showing on the bottom left hand corner of the gun in both the hotbar or inventory. When a particular ammo type is selected, the Coin Gun can ONLY fire that coin value, and if it runs out, will convert higher value coins into the selected coin type in order to keep firing.
This would make the coin gun much more enjoyable to use, without making any mistakes in what coin value is being fired. The coin gun would then, like all other ranged weapons, be able to have a clear freedom of choice in ammo type. Perhaps in order to make up for this convenience, if any is necessary, the Coin Gun could be made rarer; its stats could be reduced; or ignoring some/all ammo saving buffs to make it a more optional choice rather than outright being the best weapon to use for single target damage. I imagine this idea would have to be tweaked to make it fit better into the game, if at all, so by all means suggest ideas as to what could be changed about his idea.
Edit: In order to keep the old features of the Coin Gun, a fifth 'mode' for the Coin Gun would be the current version of the Coin Gun.
