Weapons & Equip Combine the old ones army accessories

Currently the accessories from the old ones army are a little underwhelming and not very worth the hassle since you really cant use them outside of the event. If you could combine all four of them into a much stronger accessory, such as 20% summon damage and 2 sentry slots, then it would become worth the time due to the power of the accessory, but not unbelievably strong.
 
I agree it is underwhelming, but since they are crossover content, making new things out of them had to fit with their source game.
 
+20% damage is way too much. I think the root of the problem is sentries being useless.

the accessories are all just pieces of clothes, it could just be like 'sentry kit' and be all 4 bits of gear for the sprite and on the character

I like this idea. Collect all 4 pieces, combine them into one and get an enhanced bonus! +2 sentries and get bonus summon damage at a value somewhere between original and 1.5x the original summon damage bonus. Don’t want to make the item too powerful.

I’d honestly be fine with just the +2 sentry slot! Maybe add in a small bonus of a +10% sentry attack speed

ooh i actually like that, instead of it being a mediocre summon accessory it could be a good or even great sentry-specific accessory, maybe +2 sentry slots, +10% sentry attack speed, +10% sentry damage, and maybe +5% in maybe projectile speed or crit chance
 
Sentries are actually extremely strong already but they need to be easier to use imo. With how outrageous they can be, idk if more sentry specific buffs will actually solve the problem with them.

I have not played DD2 but I would prefer if any new item crafted from DD2 materials would be true to the source material in some way, by the way.

It's hard to say with sentry summons. They are really good at what they are designed to do, which is locking down an enemy spawn point while keeping control over where the spawn point is, but most people only really care about bosses and in those cases they turn into just another minion slot outside of overly specific setups like spawn-deleting The Destroyer and it's much easier to kite a boss over a wide range than it is to maintain keeping that boss in one small area to make the most of your sentries

Adding more Sentry slots does one of two things:

- Makes it easier to cover a wider area with a similar modest amount of extra damage
- Adds more overlap zones where multiple sentries can hit a single target for above-average damage
- Locks down a small area with high damage

Half the time in farm scenarios, sentries have similar performance to just sitting in a box and letting Blade Staff minions peek out of the wall and aggro things that walk up to you, up until you are suddenly able to spawnkill things with them

It wouldn't hurt to have more sentry slots due to their nature, but I'm not sure how much it would actually help in practical terms since it's hard to really quantify how much help a single sentry gives outside of cases like OoA where you go from having maybe two sentries to your name to having 20. They'd probably benefit a lot more from staying active longer than 10 minutes per cast since forgetting to refresh them causes way more problems than your max sentry count.

That said, I am always down to clown with the theoretical thought of having a higher max count of Explosive Trap and Rainbow Crystal summons.

Issue here is forgetting, not that 10 minutes isn’t long enough. As a summoner, I feel like 10 minutes is enough to handle most things. Recasting is not a difficult task, usually I end up recasting early anyways to allow me to move around and still use sentries

Idk man, I like the sound of doing some buff refreshing tech with Palladium Armor without having to return to my base every 10 minutes. Same with afk farming requiring no autoclicker to reset all your sentries too.

Tbh you could probably get away with making their lifespan infinite, its not like you’re going to hit the projectile cap with sentries anyway unless you have over a hundred players, and at that point you probably have bigger problems with projectile capping shenanigans :D

You know what, minions already last forever. Why not just make sentries last forever too 🤷‍♂️

It’d have nearly 0 effect on how I play presently. I’m always moving around and recasting sentries anyways, I hardly notice the 10 minute sentry limit. I either kill things too fast then move on or move around too much in events or bosses - more often the latter

Yeah it's 100% a change that'd be more suited to benefiting AFK farms and Palladium Armor buff refreshes but permanent duration minions already do that

All it really changes is weird multiplayer scenarios where you suddenly have the ability to stack more than one player's worth of sentries on one spot and said second player could leave to continue mining Chlorophyte or something without the sentries disappearing but I don't think there's a single case at Chlorophyte level where multiple players worth of Explosive Traps isn't just instantly deleting the stuff you're grinding
