Hello Terraria Community! My name is Casey, and welcome to my Compendium of Chaos!
You might be wondering about the title of this thread. You see, I've spent the better part of a month tinkering with a great deal of ideas, and putting everything in one thread would be a bad idea.
So, this is to be a series of posts, with the connected title: Compendium of Chaos.
Part 2: Cult Following contains ideas regarding drops and an Expert Mode accessory for the Lunatic Cultist
Accessory: Cult Sigil
Reduces incoming projectile damage by 25%
Reduces the duration of debuffs by 25%
While not moving, you perform an arcane summoning ritual which will summon various magical projectiles to attack nearby enemies.
I've included the full text here for posterity, but in retrospect this is probably too much for one accessory, so take or leave some aspect(s) of this.
Weapon Drops
Theme: Occult Magic
That is to say, the Cultist's own attacks.
Cosmic Star Staff
Wand/Staff
Fires a slew of cosmic stars, which initially move slowly and speed up over time.
Stars track toward the cursor, and explode into a shower of cosmic sparks upon reaching the cursor or colliding with an enemy.
Inspired by the Ancient Lights attack, but with a twist to aid magic users.
Skadi’s Storm
Sword
Swinging the sword launches a barrage of bouncing, piercing ice shards.
Enemies struck directly by the blade are Chilled and Frostbitten.
While I came up with the ideas for all of these weapons, my friend pushed me to make sure they weren't 1:1 recreations of the cultist's attacks.
Shoutout to you, Neb!
Ifrit’s Blaze
Gun
Converts musket balls into miniature balls of fire, which home in on targets, explode, and inflict enemies with Hellfire.
I posted these once before in my original compilation thread, but they were a tad boring, both mechanically, and in name.
So, of course, I made some tweaks to get to these.
Stormcaller
Minion Summon
Summons a ball of lightning which pursues enemies and shoots lightning bolts, inflicting Electrified. Size and attack speed increase with consecutive summonings.
And to clarify, while I suggest using some of the debuffs, I'm not under the impression that they just work magically on enemies.
So regard those aspects as interests, not expectations.
