Lore
These poems speculate or provide descriptions about the countless inhabitants, places, and items of Terraria.

A blade forged
In both darkness and light
To save Terraria from an otherworldly plight
Throughout the world the materials came
All brought to an ancient alter, where it was set aflame
In times of need, it awakens and arises
Its power showers the bearer with great prizes
For only the truest of heroes can wield it
The biggest and mightiest axe of all
Before it, wood, walls, and monsters all fall
It rocks and rolls as it swings
Cleaving through all manner of things
Given to Plantera for safekeeping
Taken by the hero for plant-reaping
A little piece of metal, flat and stout
But it isn’t useless, without a doubt
With a hammer, anything can be made
From tool to armor and glowing blade
The mind is the only limitation
To make and forge a creation
There once was a man who wanted a gun
To kill all of the creatures under the sun
After many failed attempts, he finally found a design
Of great power and accuracy, anything but benign
Rampaging around Terraria and shooting all in sight
Until he could no longer see the light
Cast away into the Dungeon, he carefully looks
For someone to look down his barrel's hooks
From a hunk of metal that fell from the sky
Comes a weapon that lets the stars fly
Blasting away at an incredible rate of fire
But a strong and steady hand it will require
Gray, yellow, pink, and dark blue
Not many weapons can shoot this true
An orange and potent brew
Made of water and mystery goo
With a few gigantic chugs
You'll feel like you're on drugs
Empty a mug, and you'll have the ability
To punch hard and lose your civility
Gleaming orange with a creepy light
Casting shadows in the dead of night
An ominous blade of power and fear
Summoning deadly pumpkins that leer
Not the handiwork of any old smith
Evil created this to murder and kill with
A mystery we'll never know
Coming from a dark place
Where the sands of time never flow
It flew here from the edges of outer space
A strange machine at best
But it can fire faster than all the rest
The sea raider’s choice of steel
Swinging with a feverish zeal
Many fall before this ruthless blade
Their life forces quickly perish and fade
Sharp and swift, it flashes with light
Just before its victim realizes their plight
Flinging sound waves note by note
Obliterating anything as they float
Level an army with colorful beams
Or woo the crush of your dreams
Slow to move, but what a force they are
Striking down victims from afar
This sword of a far-off generation
Was used to fight the evil Federation
With a hum and hiss, a crackle and a sting
It emanates a beam from a crystal thing
Red, purple, yellow, blue, white, and green
There’s no other blade quite like this machine
An ancient weapon forged in the pits of hell
Many kingdoms this trident fell
Etched with powerful runes evoking the element of fire
No other weapon could make a situation so dire
Its existence made many cower and weep
For its blade could burn and reap
The product of a bumbling old wizard with a long snowy beard
Who was laughed at throughout the land until his creation was feared
To make it, he doused enchanted ice on a burning metal blade
And stored it in a frosty shadow of the darkest shade
It was created, a sword that burned with both heat and cold
A weapon whose power is one of the greatest ever told
Flinging shards of razor-sharp ice with just one swing
Its freezing touch can kill any living thing
Afraid that others would steal it, the wizard locked it away
Inside a frozen chest that would never see the light of day
An eccentric man with bright brown hair
And a weak sense of dramatic flair
But a mindful of helpful hints
To help you rid your armor of unnecessary dints
He is here to guide you on your adventure-filled quest
To lead you and help you be the best
Dressed a dress that's a bright clean white
Ready to fix you up after a bloody fight
Equipped with the latest medical tools
Like duct tape and red toadstools
She'll stitch your cuts and apply some ointment
But she won't care if it isn't a paid appointment
He's a bearded chubby man
Loaded with explosives in a can
Always ready to blow something to bits
Leaving behind smoking craters and pits
If he burns himself, he doesn't really care
Or even if he loses a limb or scorches his hair
He's a living fungus, completely white and blue
I'm serious, it's actually quite true
His weapons and tools are some of the best
Cheap to buy and strong when put to the test
Combine his overpowered mushrooms with Chlorophyte
And you'll have a metal of pure power and might
Glowing with an unearthly light
These aquatic creatures are sure to give quite a fright
Ensnaring their prey in a paralyzing net
To the unaware person they are a serious threat
Blue and green, reddish and pink
But faced with a weapon, they quickly sink
With a wobble and a jiggle
And a quiver and a wiggle
They fly through the air
Ready to bounce on a dare
No one can stop their jiggly might
When they squish all in sight
They're not slimes in disguise
Having floppy ears and cute eyes
Tiny and furry, they hop about
Looking for a tasty sprout
They're innocent and meek
Into your kitchen they always peek
Many a hero, though brave and strong
Have lost their way here, seeking where they belong
Vibrant trees and sparkling water
An unlikely place for a slaughter
Don't be fooled by this land from where few return
For death will await you, and in darkness you will churn
If you value your life, don't go here
The malevolence of this land spreads misery and fear
Purple reigns in this desolate place
Steadily spreading at an alarming pace
The creatures that roam this evil land
Are mutated and corrupted, not at all grand
Some bounce, walk, spit, or fly
But none will stop until you die
This dreary land is always tainted in red
The creatures here always instill dread
Lakes of blood and hills of mushy flesh
Monsters here crave meat, juicy and fresh
The counterpart of the Corruption, but just as bad
It too spreads, more and more land it shall add
Guarded by fallen heroes of another time
Its passageways filled with bones and grime
Restless spirits look for a chance to slay
A hapless hero who lost their way
But among the shades of the night
Untold treasures glint in the dim light
Deep in the heart of the subterranean jungle
Where plants turn poisonous and fungal
There is an ancient temple of brown bricks
Locked but for those who beat Plantera's tricks
Nearly indestructible, it securely keeps
Ancient technology that will give you the creeps
Within it, heroes will be happily met
By flames, darts, and a far greater threat
Long ago, when there was little to be found
A group of humans wanted to get off the ground
With powerful spells and a helium balloon
They lifted islands close to the moon
Evolving with wings to adapt to near space
Forever guarding the treasure in their someplace
A place where the ruler is fire
Its inhabitants long to rise higher
Pools of lava and blocks of heat
Surviving here is no easy feat
Soothing water isn't allowed here
So don't dig down if you have much to fear

Special Poems

These are poems with a special story or meaning. 'Nuff said.

Darkness once consumed the world
A place where the banner of chaos once stood unfurled.
In this dark and desolate land, where there was no purity or light
Life was a grim existence, sealed in endless night

Those shadowy days have long since passed
However, the darkness is of the world, so it will still last
It lurks in the places where no one dares roam
But it can also reside within the home

A dismal fate awaits for those who let it in
Inside it slips, drawn to hatred and sin
Its influence can hail the jaws of death
Look for its presence as these men draw their last breath

These two bitter enemies, Fire and Ice
Once fought one another, determined to maim and slice
Their hatred for each other knew no bounds
They would not stop until the other made no sounds

They hurled blasts of blazing heat and searing cold
Their duel is one of the most tragic ever told
It was a sad day when they turned against one another
For they once walked together, brother alongside brother

Before each other, they stood, eyes aflame
With an unearthly scream at each other they came
Armed with swords of the earth and falling sky
They hurtled toward each other, destined to die

When the smoke had cleared, there was only a crater
Their bodies lay untouched, a mystery no one knew until later
Nor steel nor magic was the cause of this sin
For they had died, from the darkness within
Across mountains of icy snow
And valleys where harsh winds blow
There lies a man, whose name has faded away
But his legacy lives on, even to this day

I'll tell you the story of this man buried under a beautiful tree
And how his extraordinary existence came to be
He appeared in a strange new world
Where everything was cubical and dragons in the sky swirled

A mane of jet black hair resided on his head
And happiness soon blossomed wherever he tread
His eyes twinkled with a keen curiosity
Which was only matched by his capacity for generosity

Off he went, traveling throughout the land
Building magnificent monuments of dirt, stone, and sand
Along his journey to explore the unknown
He met some strangers whose memories had been blown

They joined him on his wonderous travels
The mysteries of nature they unraveled
But trouble was brewing among the group
For one of them was a traitor, born to deceive and snoop

It was a grim day when she fled to the wilderness
Where she divulged his knowledge and whereabouts to the darkness
The creatures of the night slaughtered him before her eyes
And she suddenly broke down in tears because of his untimely demise

This girl, whose conscience was thought to be lost
Redeemed herself by carrying him to a burial ground covered in frost
After burying his body, she turned into a magnificent tree
To shield him from whatever elements there may be

And so ends the tale of this bold young man
So please, dear reader, do this if you can
Keep the spirit of adventure within
For people are rewarded for never letting their patience grow thin
Pixel by pixel,
The sun soared into the sky
Its warm caress brought life to all it touched
Birds sang melodious songs, and rabbits frolicked in the grass
I wish it would never end
But that seems not to be true
For my enemy's sword quivers above my head
A cold steel blade, splattered bright with red
As I lay there, taking in my final breath
I imagined the stars chase away the sun, pixel by pixel
Here I sit, my house in ruins and my arm in a brace
The result of a naughty slime that ventured into my place
Sit down, listen carefully, and you will see
Just how cunning those bouncy slimes can be

After a long day of roaming the treacherous land
I returned to my humble abode, house key in hand
Turning aside the wooden gate, I was given quite a fright
For a pink little slime sat in my chair, glowing in the absence of light

Upon my sighting of this curious little creature
It fled into the kitchen, searching for a tasty feature
As it hopped to and fro, I pursued it with a gleaming blade
But for all my efforts, it was still unafraid

With a jiggle and jump, towards me it flew
I prepared to cut the little troublemaker clean through
As if by magic, it sailed over my sword of death
And it ripped the furniture to shreds, not even stopping to take a breath

When I saw what the blob of evil had done
I decided it would be best to end its reign of tricks and fun
Drawing forth the might of the Terrarian world
The slime knew it was the end and in a ball it curled

I unleashed the forces of darkness and light
It was erased from existence, such was its plight
But as it died, it gave me one last surprise
A present to commemorate its glorious demise

It exploded, leaving a mound of steaming goo
The residue more toxic than the most potent brew
To this day, the jelly there still lies
A memorial of the pink slime's final cries
An empty piggy bank
How my life was turned foul and rank
That's how it all began
And how I became a shadow of a once lively man

I turned away from what was right
Eventually touched by death's icy bite
A product of greed wanting to be
Oh, the things I wish I could now see!

I now walk where the light does not touch
An atonement for my sins I do not like much
There, I grieve for what I could have had
Listen to my tale of a life gone sad

A coin, a coin, a treasure for all to see
Something to fill my piggy bank, empty as it may be
Playing with the others is much too boring
Give me more money, I'm imploring

Ten silver coins, that's not enough
I must have more, this isn't too rough
Don't bother me now, just let me be
I need more money, can you not see?

Five hundred golden coins, not enough I fear
Now I'm living on the streets, oh dear!
My money is too precious to be taken away
Even though I have nowhere to stay

The moon glows red, but I do not care
Moans and groans begin to fill the air
I will defend my prize with tooth and knife
I will not give up my money, not even for my life

That ends my tale of woe
To prove it I've got scars to show
To anyone who hears this message, to them I will say
Don't keep money, for it is a dark and deadly way
With a polished golden fishing rod in hand
And a spiffy hat that's never been so grand
I stood at the pier, ready to catch some fish
To take home and make my favorite dish

I cast the line far across the sparkling blue sea
For I wanted to catch the biggest whopper there be
Alas, I did not realize that it was a busy day
Under the choppy waters of the sunlit bay

Deep beneath the churning liquid blue
There seemed to be aquatic creatures that flew
Reeling in my line, I changed by mind
I used the tip of my pole to dig and grind

Upon the holes I made a nifty little trap
To ensnare the angelic fish in a sticky wrap
I watched it until I could deliver my nasty surprise
Eagerly anticipating its watery demise

Suddenly, it vanished without a trace
To have an angry sea turtle take its place
Pulling and yanking on my prized golden rod
With its powerful beak it gnawed and sawed

All that was left was a mound of glittering dust
I was so furious, I thought my heart would bust
With a cry of rage, I plunged into the water
Prepared to fight, maim, and slaughter

With a sneaky grin, the turtle hid in its shell
I grabbed on, but it shook like a toiling bell
It hurled me above the waves and into the salty air
Leaving me soaked, and I wondered why life was so unfair

Requests
To place a request, simply leave a comment on this thread, and I will do your request as soon as I can. It's that easy! Here are some poems I've already done for other people.

Silent and swift, replying to and fro
Writing legends with a pen set aglow
But when the moon shines a crimson red
All who are alive are filled with dread
For evil stirs from within, a creature of fear
Happiness and joy it will reap and shear
ElLoudGallade, the Bisharp lost to the night
It screams and howls, killing all in sight
Using waves of sound and arms as blades
It gorges itself on blood of all shades
Slandering those who dare oppose his law
Harshly pointing out writing mistakes and flaws
But when the sun begins a new day, his reign will finally end
Turning back into the Bisharp we all know as a great writer and friend
In the land where the Tiber River flows
There is a boy whose power constantly grows
He dreams of cleansing the local gang
And fights villains who attack with tooth and fang
Sporting a glossy blue suit and an artwork of yellow hair
His Stand can turn back the clock, filling its enemies with despair
With a heart full of valor and his mighty golden Stand
No other hero is as fashionable or grand
The fusion of man and magical science
Destined to help forge peace and an alliance
Between humanity and the genetically altered
In the face of combat, he never faltered
A strong man with few words to say
Letting his actions talk and slay
Beneath his cold and rugged exterior
There lies a noble heart that is all but inferior
Wielding a slab of metal infused with fire
Its blazing touch hotter than the biggest pyre
With a brilliant mind and a compassionate soul
A special headband keeps his powers in control
When the world's in chaos, Sol-Badguy is your man
To save the land from mutations in a metal can
Gracefully swimming in the ocean blue
With their fins cutting the water clean through
Magnificent and gentle creatures of the sea
But the men on land just won't let their cousins be
Chasing them across the wild jungle
When they just want to eat everything fungal
Hunted for their precious armored shells
Their old home is where a human now dwells
Deep within the trees the tortoises now hide
Desperate to save a shred of their pride
To the turtles of the ocean they call
So they can have vengeance and cause the humans to fall
A pale purple eye gleams from what came from hell
Along with a burning kunais that is the demon's death-knell
Gliding silently on his blood red wings
Doom and destruction he always brings
He buries his terrible burden deep inside
Many have tried to unearth it and died
Born to an otherworldly mother
Who vanished, not even replaced by another
His father rejected him when he saw the ugly truth
When he seemed to have perpetual youth
Relentlessly killing the winged terrors of the sky
In hopes that his father will love him when the demons all die
A group of six talented people
Whose songs are rarely sung under a steeple
Dressed with masks that are midnight black
They rap and rock for a musical track
Popular for their mighty songs
Even though some have done a few wrongs
With hits like Bullet and Day of the Dead
Their fame still continues to spread
Fire in his eyes and magic in his heart
He's a strong wizard, powerful and smart
From his seemingly infinite inventory of mystery
He can draw weapons that'll make you history
The art of the unknown is his game
His unique talents bring him glory and fame
With a little bit of power and wire
He'll drop you into an ethereal fire
There isn't much that can stop his might
When all falls before his fire and light
The pale blue skies bring heavy snow
The mighty winds swoosh and blow
But lo and behold, a meek little beast
Cries out, the leftovers of a yak-food feast
Wandering over the ridges of rock and ice
Until he finds a very strange device
Blinded by the queer machine's glow
The little yak is no longer in the snow
He rubs his eyes and takes a look
At the great trees surrounding a brook
Unbeknownst to him, Terraria is the place
Where he is safe in both time and space

Creation Compendium
The Creation Compendium is a monthly event in which the creations of the community are featured for all to see. I encourage you to participate in it, since all entries are accepted. I'll be putting my entries in this section for future reference.

A cold breeze flows around the mounds of rubble
The testimony to unspeakable strife and trouble
I tear my eyes away from the piles of rotted bones
As I breath my last, lying among the shattered stones

I remember what it used to be like
It was a haven of harmony before the enemy's strike
Where the vibrant vendors and exotic merchants used to be
Tattered silk and charred wood is all I can see

I remember the once magnificent waterfalls
Now, a few brick arches are all that's left of the castle's halls
The Steampunker, the Dryad, the Mechant, all my friends that I adore
Everything I once had and knew is now no more

I remember the utterance of terrified screams and cries
As my fellow people met their sudden demise
Crimson pools sprang up where they fell
It was as if the massacre had come from the pits of hell

I remember the vile creatures of the night
They killed with poison, claw, and bite
Their evil aura seeped into the life of the land
Turning all soil into an acidic purple sand

I remember the valiant and courageous men
Who sacrificed themselves for others, time and time again
Even with their consecrated golden blades
They could do nothing against the deadly shades

I remember our oath to make a final stand
Where we prepared to accept our fate, be it gory or grand
With a final shout, we pushed forward in the last charge
Only to be struck down by a sword, both sharp and large

I remember a tiny hope for tranquility and light
The key to restore the purity and end the fight
Given to the guardians of the eclipsed sun, it was hidden away
A weapon for a new hero of another time and day

I remember that I'm now at my final breath
And now, I do not fear the embrace of death
There will be a way for justice to be done
Through the new hero that shall soon come
I hated going to bed without a morsel to eat
No soup, no pudding, not even some meat
Without even copper coins to spend
It seemed like my family was at a dead end

I gloomily watched the sun fade into night
When I suddenly saw a dazzling sight
A Fallen Star had streaked across the sky
And landed in the yard, unable to fly

Tinkling and glistening, seemingly unafraid
That it was separated from its heavenly cascade
I knelt beside it and felt its warm glow
And was enveloped in its golden flow

The star said it could make dreams come true
Leaving me speechless, wondering what to do
It told me that everything was fair game
But some things might bring pain and shame

Alas, I was already seeing money-making mills
And a never-ending row of platinum coin hills
I saw warriors, each with a beam-shooting blade
Guarding a brick castle that would never fade

I saw all of the riches above and beneath the earth
The mound of metal and rock an uncountable worth
All of Terraria would be my very own
And only I would rule the throne

But then, as a tear traced down my cheek
I remembered my family, so small and meek
And then, I knew what I wanted to get
Not even feeling a little bit of regret

Having never felt better, I eagerly told the star
And my conscience the choice would never mar
Tomorrow, I want my family to have a tasty dish
And that is my one and only wish
Aboard the flying ship, the pirate shouted on the deck
"Find some treasure or you'll pay with your neck!"
The crew, anxious to placate their angry boss
Tried to find sources of riches but were at a loss

When things were looking grim, they all said
"We need treasure, or we'll all certainly be dead!"
But among the anguished crowds, there was a guy
Who had an idea to make the crew's spirits fly

He wanted to go to Terraria, a realm of riches and magic
Where one wrong step would be very tragic
With no other options, the shipmates decided to go
And with that, the magical oars started to row

The crew had to take a few pit stops along the way
Including a certain pineapple and a shark infested bay
But after many nights of sailing across the sky
The captain exclaimed, "Our moment of glory is nigh!"

In a house below the vessel, some people were asleep
But were soon awakened by noises from the flying heap
A band of ragtag warriors soon gathered to fight
To defend their ale and families from the airborne plight

Horde by horde, the bloodthirsty pirates began to descend
Shouting, "Arrrr, ye landlubbers, this will be your end!"
In response, the lead warrior swung his mighty sword
Launching a stream of kittens that exploded and gored

Armed with furniture, lasers, sticks, bows, and stones
The warriors killed until there was fire in their bones
With most of their fellow crew wounded or dead
The survivors screamed like children and fled

When all the bloody murdering was finally done
Only the captain stood with his giant golden gun
He exclaimed, "Gimme all your blasted treasure,"
"Or I'll hurt ye and your families beyond measure!"

The leader replied, "We don't have any jewels or gold,"
"We only have our ale and our friends, truth be told."
With tears in his eyes and his scraggly beard, he cried,
I just wanted to be loved! I didn't want nobody to die!"

The noble leader gave the poor guy a chance
Giving him a home, unlimited ale, and free finance
Now he supplies various pirated pirate wares
Including cannons and unlimited friendship with no fares

Hahaha, I love it! It's funny how Bisharp is the good guy and Gallade is the bad guy, considering Dark and Psychic typing. Lastly, @gallantEclipse.

Greetings, I'd like to request.
If you can make a poem about outside sources/media, I'd like a poem about Giorno Giovanni from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
If not, I'd like a poem about the mighty ice blade Frostbrand, about it's history or how it came to be.
Don't get generous and make both!

@A Wanderer

Giorno Giovanni

In the land where the Tiber River flows
There is a boy whose power constantly grows
He dreams of cleansing the local gang
And fights villains who attack with tooth and fang
Sporting a glossy blue suit and an artwork of yellow hair
His Stand can turn back the clock, filling its enemies with despair
With a heart full of valor and his mighty golden Stand
No other hero is as fashionable or grand

Frostbrand

The product of a bumbling old wizard with a long snowy beard
Who was laughed at throughout the land until his creation was feared
To make it, he doused enchanted ice on a burning metal blade
And stored it in a frosty shadow of the darkest shade
It was created, a sword that burned with both heat and cold
A weapon whose power is one of the greatest ever told
Flinging shards of razor-sharp ice with just one swing
Its freezing touch can kill any living thing
Afraid that others would steal it, the wizard locked it away
Inside a frozen chest that would never see the light of day

Might I have a poem about turtles?
Why, hello there @Teal. Of course you can have poem about turtles.

Turtles

Gracefully swimming in the ocean blue
With their fins cutting the water clean through
Magnificent and gentle creatures of the sea
But the men on land just won't let their cousins be
Chasing them across the wild jungle

They are watching us.

Here's your poem! I had stuff to do, so I apologize for the delay.

Nice job, Magic Cookie! :D

This is my first entry for CC (I had nowhere else to put it). I think it's my best work here. :)

I Remember

I would like to request 2 poems. (Maybe 3 if you feel lucky. :3)

1. A poem about my character, Sivath. (Basic info seen in my sig, and some backstory in my "I Interview Sivath" spot.)
2. A poem about my favorite band, Hollywood Undead.
(Plan B if you cannot/won't do the other 2... 3. A poem about my charac - Wait... I already said that... Nevermind then, only 2 requests.)

@Sivath here's your poems. I had lots of state exams, so I was occupied. I hope you understand.

Sivath

A pale purple eye gleams from what came from hell
Along with a burning kunais that is the demon's death-knell
Gliding silently on his blood red wings
Doom and destruction he always brings
He buries his terrible burden deep inside
Many have tried to unearth it and died
Born to an otherworldly mother
Who vanished, not even replaced by another
His father rejected him when he saw the ugly truth
When he seemed to have perpetual youth
Relentlessly killing the winged terrors of the sky
In hopes that his father will love him when the demons all die

Hollywood Undead

A group of six talented people
Whose songs are rarely sung under a steeple
Dressed with masks that are midnight black
They rap and rock for a musical track
Popular for their mighty songs
Even though some have done a few wrongs
With hits like Bullet and Day of the Dead
Their fame still continues to spread

What do you think?

Holy :red:. That first one literally brought me to tears, it was so amazing. The Hollywood undead one had an error though, but I can easily fix it. They have six members and two past members, but it was accurate so I will not dock points from that.
