The Dark Horse would look like a Unicorn without it's horn, and of course, it's black. It would have red eyes and have a shadow effect on it. When it stands still, black flames would rise up from it.

The Unicorn, if lured into a Disease biome (and is killed), would drop the Tainted Saddle. Using the Tainted Saddle would spawn the Dark Horse mount.

The Dark Horse can run as fast as a Unicorn mount.

The Dark Horse can fly for 3 seconds and falls to the ground with a boom. Running into an enemy would engulf them in Shadowflame (unless they're immune).

When you are on the mount, you get the "Shadow Shield" buff. It grants 20 Defense and higher health regen.

I assume "Disease biome" refers to Crimson/Corruption? That would be quite interesting. There's precedent for variations depending on biome, such as with Pigron or fishing. A corrupted Unicorn as you've described sounds quite awesome!

What's stopping a player repeatedly mounting and immediately dismounting in order to get the buff?
