Weapons & Equip Dart Shotgun: Lihzahrd related weapon drop.

TheGuideIsEvil

Terrarian
Damage: 50

Use time: 15

Knockback: Weak

Best modifier: Unreal

Rarity: Lime

A Post Plantera dart weapon, dropped by Lihzahrds and Flying Snakes at a 1/100 rate. The Dart Shotgun can only drop from those enemies if Plantera dies: prevents cheating that way. It resembles a shotgun with a large bore, and vines on it. It is obtainable regardless of world evil, and always comes with 35-40 Venom Darts when dropped (check link below for stats)

The Dart Shotgun a spread of 4-5 darts at once, making it devastating. It has a fast use time, and can deal massive damage in near endgame. Watch out for the spread.

It can also use alternate dart types I suggested that are available at similar times of progression.

Tooltip: Shoots 5-7 darts at once, “feel like a hunter?”

Is this too much projectiles, i just wanted to be useful endgame
I'm not sure if this would be too many projectiles or not;
25-35 projectiles per shot (when using Ichor Darts) and fast use time would be very hard to balance, though on the other hand, it might be interesting; Ichor darts don't turn into multiple darts until they've traveled a few blocks, and invincibility frames would make the darts interfere with each other at a medium range, so unlike normal shotguns, this one would be most effective when it's at a long range.

And it would also be a great crowd control weapon with Cursed Darts, since all 7 darts would drop cursed flames, but I think that might be overpowered for single-target if fired upwards, so it would have to be balanced out by giving the weapon a large spread.

When using this with the Chlorophyte Darts you suggested, I think invincibility frames would likely make it very weak; since all of the darts in the spread are fired at once, and the darts have very high velocity, all of the darts would be likely to hit the target at the same time. A solution to this would be nerfing the velocity of the Chlorophyte darts. However, lasers tend to be thin, so the large shotgun spread necessitated by the Cursed Darts would make it very hard to hit enemies with more than one Chlorophyte Dart at once.
On the other hand, I'm not exactly sure what you meant by "They travel towards their target instantly". Did you mean that they always go towards the nearest enemy, and then continue in that direction, regardless of where your gun is aimed? If so, the only way to solve the invincibility frame issue would be staggering the times at which the darts are shot. And if they always go towards the nearest enemy, that would defeat the purpose of this weapon being a shotgun, since the whole point of a shotgun is to have a spread.

As for the Shroomite Darts you suggested, the fact that most of their damage comes from an AoE debuff means these, like the aforementioned Ichor and Cursed Darts, would be better suited for crowd control, by firing them at far away enemies to maximize the area of the debuff AoE. They would be very bad for single-target, however, since most of the damage comes from the debuff.

The Venom Darts you suggested, when used with this, would definitely fill up the screen with projectiles, but since Acid Venom only does 30 dps as opposed to Radiated's 45 dps, I think they wouldn't be very good when compared to Shroomite Darts.

Hmm..

This seems like a lag machine.

Maybe it deals 50 damage and shoots 4-5 projectiles at once.

Will consider the other features!
