De-binding items with shared sound effects

Pretty much the title - I was wondering if there was any way to change the sound effects that certain entities were bound to (for example, making the Shark guns no longer bound to Item_7.xnb or making only Skeletron use Boss 1). I'm trying to make a resource pack mostly with different sound effects, but most of the things I want to change share the SFX with other items - so the non-target items feel out of place. Asking in case there's a simple way to edit these ties, or if I should just wait until tModLoader releases 1.4.
