demon scythe not dropping for me

I was grinding for demon scythe for a while for my first expert playthrough (mage because it's my favourite class) and after about an hour I stopped grinding for it because I was still early on in the game so I was dying constantly and it felt really slow. Then I returned to the underworld to build my bridge for WoF and I just got my second demon banner with no scythe .

Is this a glitch or do I really just have this much bad luck, please help me.

I stopped grinding after maybe 30ish demons in the first one then returned with better stuff and stopped dying I basically died like 2 times for the last grid of 70ish demons

edit: and what would me dying have to do with it

Because if you keep dying you kill less demons and waste some time returning to the Underworld.
 
What platform? I think it's highly unlikely it's a glitch, but ask around if other players on your platform are experiencing this if you want. My money's on bad luck
