Did this game inspire the terraria bosses? "Call of Cthulhu"

"The Call of Cthulhu" is another game that seems related to terraria bosses. What do you think about it? Why do terraria story and bosses be based on this "Cthulhu"?

Chtulhu is a mythology creature, and has been around for a long time. Way before either of these games. And originated as one of the lovecraftian's original works. As an eldrish horror.
People like to make mythological stories out of it.

I don't know more about it though.
