Do you remember your first Terraria World?

I remember mine around 2013 which was a large crimson one, with a huge wooden shoebox tower with a broken herb garden farm (broken as it didn't work instead of it being OP.) Outside of that was a giant asphalt skybridge arena, and a copied Yrimir build by making a surface mushroom biome on top of a blue dungeon. I also remember using Christmas Presents to build a WoF arena from the Candycane Blocks and put down a ton of golden furniture from pirate invasions everywhere, Which did look messy but had a bit of a charm. After beating Golem I just kind of grinded out Solar Eclipses and the Frost/Pumpkin Moons with a Lizhard Trap Arena next to the Shoebox Tower that usually failed, but I did get to wave 15 of the Pumpkin Moon once (I had to build an NPC bunker below the ice biome with King/Queen statues with a timer to avoid them getting killed)

Feel free to share any memories you have of your first world(s) in this thread as well

After all these years, somehow I still remember the very 1st Terraria world I made. I no longer have it with me since at one point I deleted my pre-1.3 worlds, but I might still have some screenshots from my Steam account that I might edit into this post at a later point.

It was actually during Christmas of 2011 that I got Terraria for Christmas and then created a world where I started in the snow biome. Since it was 1.1 a snow biome wasn't Guaranteed. There was no underground snow.

I clumsily built a wooden box and got killed by zombies a few times, there was corruption near my house as well and the Eater of Souls did freak me out a bit at first since I had no weapons.

Eventually went underground and hammered the "purple spikey thing" (a Demon Altar) not knowing it's purpose.

After that I learned a lot about how to play the game and it became my first journey into hardmode and the start of a game I'll always come back to play.

My brothers and I still have our first world, and I think the most memorable thing about it is the grave we made when our first guide died. His name was Kevin.

Oh yes indeed.
It was very very bad because I didn't know what progression was :D
That was back when Skeletron was the final boss of the game :D

It was around 2014 and I forgot which version I was playing on. I do remember that my guide's name was Jack and I tried to build a castle. I even used ebonstone as decorations for it without knowing corruption was an evil biome. It was back on the days where I didn't know what the Eye of Cthulhu was, and therefore, did not understand what "You feel an evil presence watching you" meant. Ended up logging off the game in a panic when the boss suddenly spawed.

I remember booting up my box 360 cant remember when (ages ago) and there was only corruption i made a character made a world was called terra i deleted it because i found a eater of souls and well young Claire went JESUS CHRIST NO and deleted the world tuened off my xbox and went back to my ps2

It was 2013 and the game's version was 1.1, I spawned on a cliffside with on the left side a flat snow field, and on the end of it the dangerous corruption.
I remember it already felt like a field trip just going through the flat snow area alone.
On the right side, there was a large hill with a cave, that cave eventually led to a deep point. Ropes didn't exist back then, so I always did a risk jump there, ending up always landing on a dart trap, so I had no clue what was always attacking me deep down there (even though it was barely entering the caverns layer)

Behind the hill there was a large green field and the desert, going through the desert was a pain because I didn't knew how to deal with vultures. Only to finally come in a new jungle area, filled with shallow water and jungle slimes that were razing at me, dying in the process

Naturally, I went making a flat, but the NPC pathing on ladders (...were there even ladders?) Was funny so they always ended up at the bottom room. So I changed that room into a large living room where all NPC's gathered together.

other parts that stood out was that the corruption behind the snow fields were changed into the hallow, and that wyverns could spawn at that surface level. But eventually the other side became totally corrupted, and fighting it with holy water, while masses of corruptors could spread the corruption further, was a losing battle

Unfortunately I didn't owned the game on Steam, and I've started anew in a new 1.2 world. But I keep treasuring these moments as it was a great first time experience full with strange discoveries

2015 I named my world after the horror film Evil Dead on my Xbox 360, damn.. i even made Ash Williams or Bruce Campbell. by having the Boomstick and a Chainsaw, but unfortunately i couldn't find those.

I finally bought the game on Xbox one on digital in 2019 with a Gift Card,

then i bought the game on PC in 2020.

there was corruption near my house as well and the Eater of Souls did freak me out a bit at first since I had no weapons.
I can heavily relate too the "being scared of the evil biome monsters you first encounter" aspect, my first encounter with a face monster had me horrified and confused at what it even was more than The Eye of Cthulhu
I even used ebonstone as decorations for it without knowing corruption was an evil biome.
I did something similar with Red Ice too not knowing it would spread and crimsonfied a Sky Island build I had. How badly infected did your builds get?

It hasn't got to the point where it did, since I never got to hard mode in that world. Although something similar happened when I used pearlstone bricks (when they used to spread the Hallow); the next thing I knew was my whole hometown turned to Hallow.

I didn't know Pearlstone Bricks used to spread Hallow, but I do remember a lot of creators I followed having their main base Hallowed around 1.1 to mid 1.2 though. Makes me wonder if that was less intentional "Hallowed = Good, so my base should be here" without EoL to dissuade that and more of that happening

Not sure about them, but it was definitely unintentional for me. But then again, since I grew to admire the Hallow, I decided to just leave it there.

100%

Mobile build, one of the very first builds.

I thought copper armor was supreme, didn't understand how NPC housing worked, and was too scared to hit the corruption. :D

not as well as i wish i did, unfortunately

some things i clearly remember were creating a chamber filled entirely with the old 1.1 tombstones for whatever reasons, fighting the goblin army with :red:ing bombs, creating a skybase (which i've never been able to do in a way that looks nice since), and someone placing a chest on a boulder and creating a simple, but effective device for crashing the game, and destroying the backwall of my dungeon because i didn't understand why dungeon guardian kept killing me.

now nearly 9 and a half years have passed, and while i don't do any of that anymore, i proceed to find whole new ways of being an oblivious idiot.

my first world is still my main, although i mostly use it for fishing and finding rare drops

i have always done challenges my first world was on the xbox 1 the goal was to beat the game normally i knew nothing about terraria so i bult like these strange pits everywhere and summoning cerlces with a sighn saying OMG IS THAT HEROBRAINE why was i like this as a kid i think i was 11 at the time

First world kinda sucked. Neat little village at the heart of the world, but nothing of note. Didn't really do a whole lot of building. My builds got significantly better as I progressed.

I remember at lest like it was 1.1.2. I had a snow biome spawn. Bult a simple base type place on like a bit of hill where zombies couldn't reach it. Made a bit of underground bit to it that was like one block from hitting water. It was also fairly close to corruption. I remember getting kinda spooked by my first encounter with an eater of souls.

If the demo world on the Xbox 360 counts for this, then I suppose thst one should not be difficult to remember, but the others... I don't remember as much.

My first world was on mobile, it was a long wooden row of houses, starting in a forest biome and reaching into the snow. The doors were always blocked with wood after a traumatising blood moon.
My first pc world, I reached the mech bosses. There was a village I had built. There was a dynasty wood fish and chips shop, where the angler lived, and past a living tree there was a crashed granite spaceship in a desert. Eventually the crimson spread into the village, and I had to make a new world.
