PC Does PC Terraria have cross-play with Mobile?

(Didn't know if i should post this on mobile forum or PC forum)

one of my friends (doesn't have a personal PC) wants to play terraria with me and some of my other friends, but we don't know if there is crossplay between each version. And I'm not talking about using cross-play with penguin-games or other servers. I'm talking about a normal survival server me and my friends can go on.

(By the way, I own all the worlds, so i have to be on to play, but I'm on most of the day so it works out)

Crossplay between the same kind of device (mobile apple - mobile apple) currently works, but crossplay between different devices is planned to come soon.

As long as the PC(s) and mobile device(s) are each running the same version of Terraria (e.g., 1.4.4.9 is current for PC/Android, 1.4.4.9.1 for iOS), then they should be compatible to play together, as long as you can work out the networking with port forwarding etc. All your mobile friend needs is the IP, port and password to join.

I believe that Apple/Android crossplay works, as it has in the past. The extra patch to the iOS version was to address an iOS-only issue, and internally it is recognized as 1.4.4.9

Is there any way that i can use like some other address thing other than my IP? like how some servers and just random IP addresses?

One of my friends that im going add has been playing through steam (this is before the mobile guy joined) but now since if we all want to play together I have to give my IP to him aswell, however i dont fully trust him having possession of my IP. that's why i want to use a different address

I think that you can play with your Steam friend(s) through Steam like before, and only give your IP/port info to your mobile friend(s) or non-Steam (is.e., GOG) PC friends

If you want to hide your IP for everyone, you'd have to set up a proxy service, or set up a domain server, or maybe consider renting a server to host your games. All of that is beyond my experience and knowledge. The bottom line is: if you are inviting people to play an online game that is hosted on your computer, then they can probably figure out what your IP is anyway, if they wanted to.

Some companies have advertised their services here: Server Hosting (paid) We don't endorse any particular one, and I'm sure there are others out there.
