Doors disappearing when off-screen

Every now and then, a door will disappear without dropping an item. The doors disappear while I am offscreen.
 
Were there any Goblin Invasions during that period?

Goblins can actually knock doors off their frame, and there is an item count limit for how many items can be on the ground, so theoretically they could have knocked them off, and enough items fell to the ground that the door item despawned.
 
Ooh, there were a couple invasions- I do vaguely remember a door disappearing before the first invasion, and at least 4 doors have disappeared at different times. I think the oddest thing is that I’ve played ~650 hours and haven’t ever seen this happen before now. But I could have just been getting lucky! I’ll keep playing and see if any more disappear and under which circumstances.
