And thudd is kinda made of earth

if thudd was hungry and mad enough yes but no despite being able to grow plants on the surface of his body, Thudd isn't very different from regular animals in terms of anatomical makeup. His thick hide is probably the closest thing but anything beneath that is flesh and bone.

Also, I think that Coelum should be trying to be friends with Thudd as much as they are. They are both sentient creatures with a kind of earth affinity and plants growing on them, dealing with a crappy partner.
