Hear me out, split the content so you have just the Dead Cells content, drop it as intended "Dead Cells Crossover" 1.4.5

Then, save the rest of the content and keep adding more and take your time knowing the update drought is over, and when you're ready, drop 1.5 as Terraria's true final update!

quite honestly, I wouldn’t mind if 1.4.5 never came out, getting improvement after improvement. The game is good by itself and I’m hyped, but also want more and more. Idk, dumb idea probably unpopular. I, however, do not want it to be a true final update. That makes me depressed for some reason. Somewhat my approval.

"But 90% of the content is gonna be other stuff" Now, none but developers know how big the update is, but I feel you are heavily overestimating its size. The time it took is probably because Re-Logic is also dedicating to other projects and just taking their time. I heavily doubt there is enough new content to justify a 1.5, and honestly I don't think a 1.5 will or should happen at all
