PC Early Hardmode Weapon Tier List (All classes)

I thought I'd give my take on what I personally would recommend for people starting out in early hardmode. As a middle ground this will be put in the perspective as someone playing in Expert Mode. This is no particular order, just what comes to mind first

S - Cursed Flames Book | Golden Shower | Dart Rifle | Sanguine Staff | Uzi | Clockwork Assault Rifle | Firecracker | Bananarang

A - Flying Knife | Dart Pistol | Daedalus Stormbow | CoolWhip | Nimbus Rod | Blade Staff | Meteor Staff | Dao of Pow | Onyx Blaster | Spider Staff

B - Crystal Storm | Poison Staff | Sky Fracture | Crystal Serpent | Shadowflame bow | Unholy Trident | Shotgun

C - Marrow | Beam Sword | Flower of Frost | Ice Staff | Spirit Flame | Pirate Staff | Crystal Vile Shard

D - Life Drain | any hardmode ore weapon | Jousting Lance

F - Pearlwood sword | Pearlwood shortsword | Arkhalis


Note: I likely missed like half of them but I don't know a lot of these weapons, especially melee as I have only ever played that class once which was back in 1.3.5 so yea
 
Few things that come to mind

Life Drain is being underrated hard, for a weapon with perfect accuracy, generous range and effectively infinite pierce. Crystal Vile Shard might deserve higher too. They're both great for disrupting crowds of enemies and ripping into the Destroyer, usually taking care of probes for free.

Spirit Flame's underrated too. Stupid high base damage, homing and reasonable mana cost make it effective for flying enemies like The Twins.

I'm not sure Clockwork Assault Rifle deserves to be that far above Onyx Blaster. It's easier to get, but is impacted more by defense.

Other notable weapons worth looking into
Shadowflame Knife, Sergeant United Shield, Fetid Baghnakhs, Clinger Staff.
 
I would say dart pistol still goes in S tier. Just because it has lower damage doesn’t mean it’s objectively worse than the rifle. The faster firing speed makes it better for groups of enemies like during the Destroyer fight, and also for clearing detonating bubbles when doing early Duke Fishron.
