Game Mechanics Effects for the Hearts and Health Bar

Intro
The visuals of the health heart's are already very nice, and cool to look at. However, I think that this aspect of Terraria would be heavily uplifted if the health hearts and bar changed their appearance based on what debuff you have on you.

Suggestion
  • My idea is very simple. Any time a player receives a debuff, the color of the health visualizers would change based on the debuff that is being inflicted on you.
  • So if you are on fire, then the health bar/hearts would change to an orange color and have little flame effects.
  • If you are frozen, the health icons would change to an icy blue, and have icicles hanging off them.
  • If you are under the stoned debuff, the health icons would become the color grey, and have a rocky texture.
  • Not every debuff in the game would receive a special effect. Each of them would be grouped into a category (fire, icy, darkness), and whatever category of debuff you have inflicted on you, the health icons would change to the theme that represents it. So if you are under the Hellfire debuff, the health icons would change to the fire effect that I described earlier.
  • If you have been hit with multiple debuffs, then the effect would be based on the one you were lasted inflicted with.
  • Finally, this effect could be turned on or off in the settings.

Impact
  1. Adds an extra layer of detail to the health icons.
  2. Helps players see what debuff they have.

It would be kinda funny if confused made the hearts flip upside down
 
I'd make it so the debuff shown would be the most powerful one. It'd be more useful to show Cursed Flame over On Fire no matter what time you got them. Also, Broken Armor could affect the armor thing in the equipment menu.

You have a good point, but these are primarily supposed to be visual.
 
I had the idea that the silenced debuff could show gold locks on the blue stars in the HUD.
