That's because Destroyer's head can deal about 200 damage even with Hardmode armor. It deals massive damage until you use items or armor that reduce damage (such as Frozen Turtle Shell).

LOL My friend was interested to fight Expert Mode Destroyer on my Laptop, and died in two hits because of the head.
