Exporting Old Worlds From Xbox 360/PS3 to Xbox One/PS4

Hey There,
I have recently acquired Terraria Xbox One Edition and I have been having problems with the conversion of world saves. I upload the the world to Cloud and download it on my Xbox One but whenever I select a character and play on the world, it crashes the game and forces me onto the dashboard. I have tried the following to solve this issue:
-Create a new character and load the world
-Turn off and on my console, reloading the game and starting the world
-Deleting the world and re-downloading it from the Cloud.
-Export it on computer and attempt to edit the code
All of these methods haven't seen any improvement to accessing the world.

From my analyse, I think that the problem may be because the world is too old, being created on August 9th, 2014. It appears to be the world itself because I can access other worlds from brand new characters and characters imported from 360.

Is there any way to fix this?

I don't think currently there is a way to fix this I have heard that other people are having problems with this. Was your world generated before 1.2 or 1.2 because worlds before 1.2 don't have plantera so might want to restart if before 1.2. If you need any more help go here http://support.505games.com/

I created it around August 2014 which I believe was 1.2. What do you mean by restart? Just create a new one?

Yes create a new one I will quickly check the release date of 1.2 for you. 1.2 for console released April 17th 2014 so you may need to start a new world

if you still have your 360, port all the items from the compromised/troubling world onto a new character. then "start over"
with all your gear but just no NPCs or hard mode yet. but that shouldn't be an issue.
i had the issue and i couldnt do anything about it :/
troubls shoot more before using this as a last resort

That might work It didn't for me through but give it a shot if you don't try you don't know what could of happend.
