Other Extra Features to Make Pre-Hardmode More Fun!

EparoBro

Terrarian
I always thought Pre-Hardmode was a boring trial before I can get to the real meat of the game in hardmode. I get that Pre-Hardmode is supposed to not be a long portion of the game, but it is never fun because you aren't constantly getting new gear *cough *cough Enchanted Sword. So let's start, moving from stuff you can get from pretty much the start to later Pre-Hardmode items.

WARNING: THIS THREAD IS LONG!

I want to enhance the surface biome to make it more than just trees, mushrooms and Daybloom.

Slime Staff should now be craftable. It is ridiculous that I need to wait for a 1/10k drop. It should be available almost as soon as you start. Summoners are janked in early Pre-Hardmode. Also there should be Slime armor, an early summoner set requiring a fair amount of gel and iron.

Slime Staff changes: Tier changed to Blue. Crafting recipe: 30 Wood, 20 Gel, and 6 Iron Bars, at a workbench

Slime Armor:
Slime Headgear: 2 Defense, Minions +1
Slime Suit: 2 Defense, Minion Damage +4%
Slime Pants: 2 Defense, Movement speed +4%, Mana +20
Set Bonus: +1 Minion

And the recipe:
Headgear- 30 Gel, 15 Iron Bars
Suit- 30 Gel, 20 Iron Bars
Pants- 20 Gel, 15 Iron Bars
Total: 80 Gel, 50 Iron Bars

Also for the patient people:
Pinky Armor! And Pinky Staff
What else can I do with all that Pink Gel?

Pinky Staff:
10 Summon Damage
Slow Speed
Weak Knockback
19 Mana Usage
Special: Pinky can move quicker and jump faster than normal slimes. Pinky also bounces away less when locked on a target.

Recipe: 30 Wood, 20 Pink Gel, 10 Gold Bars at an Anvil.

Pinky Headgear: 3 Defense, Minion +1, Minion Knockback +3%
Pinky Suit: 4 Defense, Minion Damage +5%
Pinky Pants: Movement Speed + 5%, Jump height: +2 Tiles, Minion Damage +2%
Set Bonus: Minion +1, Fall damage -80%
(REALLY useful early game)

Crafting
Headgear: 20 Pink Gel, 10 Gold Bars
Suit: 20 Pink Gel, 15 Gold Bars
Pants: 20 Pink Gel, 10 Gold Bars
Total: 60 Pink Gel, 35 Gold Bars

Ok, I was starting to get off topic. More on the surface.

New plant life: We only have grass, Daybloom, and mushrooms. Isn't this biome supposed to be a forest?

Toxic Mushroom: A mushroom that has an unidentified toxin. I wonder what you can do with the poison... It's a brown mushroom that is about as common as Daybloom.

Cream Daisy: Grows like marigolds. You can get Baige dye from it.

Special Stuff in trees: For all the animal crossing fans out there, you can get certain items but chopping trees sometimes. These items are:

Leaf Furniture: Furniture made of leaves
Coins: There's a 40% chance for 20 copper, 10% for 1 silver, 1% for 1 gold and 0.1% for a platinum coin.
Bombs: This is kinda a prank one, but there is a 1% chance a smiley bomb will fall from the tree and explode. ( Doesn't break tiles) And a special death message will be awarded. "Tree took (player's name) down with it."

Some new stuff for surface chests: Surface chests can give pretty good loot at times, but there isn't enough UNIQUE loot. (I'm talking about getting throwing knives.)

Surface Dweller's Bow
A basic bow you can get. It's not as strong as some metal bows, but it's a great early addition

Mana Brace
A brace that boosts Mana Regen by 4%

Squirrel Staff
Summons Savage Squirrels that throw acorns!

Surface Dweller's Bow
7 Ranged Damage
Average Speed
Weak Knockback
6% Critical hit chance

Mana Brace

Material

Squirrel Staff

Summons Savage Squirrels to fight for you!

I'll stop with the surface now, and move down into the underground areas- the cavern layer.
First, we start with the Marble biome. We all know about the underpowered
Hoplite armor. Let's focus there first.
The drop rate needs to be boosted, and it needs some cool features.
Helmet: Throwing damage +8%
Breastplate: Thrown weapon speed +10%
Greaves: 10% chance not to use thrown weapons.
Now moving to marble chests: I never liked that it's just normal loot. Here are some unique loot ideas I made (duh)

Zeus's Throw: Bronze Yo-Yo that zaps nearby enemies
Bronze Throwing Knife: Powered up Throwing Knife
Bronze Figure Staff: Mini Bronze warriors with bows and swords fight for you
Bronze Gauntlets: Melee Weapon size +5% (Doesn't affect flails, yo-yo etc.)

Starts up Slow and becomes extremely fast.

I told ya this thread would be LONG! Just to remind you.

I feel some enemies underground are kinda empty. Let's add on!

Giant Worm: Known for being a minor nuisance, it is pretty empty outside the whoopie cushion.
New drops: Worm Staff (2%)

Worm Staff
6 Summon Damage
Fast Speed
Weak Knockback
Uses 8 Mana
Every use adds another segment adding +4 damage.

Now going straight up into the floating Islands. The only thing going for them is the chest. With all the items added in them here, the floating island number needs an increase.

New items:
Cloud Ride
Let's you ride it like a flying carpet. Don't throw spiky turtles off it!

Sky Pierce
Bow that shoots piercing Harpy feathers

Mana Constellation Map

4% critical hit chance
Wood arrows turn into Harpy feathers

Now this next one may sound a bit whacko, but I think Pre-Hardmode bosses should drop unique weapons.

King Slime: Blob Gun
Eye of Clthulhu: Servant's Eye
Eater of Worlds: Spear of Worlds, Eater Staff
Brain of Clthulhu: Confusion Spell, Creeper Staff

Blob Gun
21 Ranged Damage

Now for some armors, and what inspired me to make so many were mods like Thorium. (I can't guarantee you'll like any though)

I like the concept, but 2 things.
1st, you spelled worm staff work staff.
Also, the no mana sickness set bonus seems like a bit much. Maybe just half the sickness length? But I never was a mage, so i might be talking out of my butt.

Yeah, I'll reduce the Mana Sickness to 50% instead of removing it entirely. The reason The worm staff is misspelled is because of stupid autocorrect.
