NPCs & Enemies For the Bestiary: Pre-Hardmode Enemies Spawn More Often In Hardmode (Compared To Now).

Why not just... add an item that disables Hardmode enemy spawns in the area? Like how the Shadow Candle disables the enemy reduction effect of towns, there's a candle that makes enemy spawns ignore hardmode being active. That way, if you want to farm pre-hardmode enemies, you can just use that. Best of both worlds, 100% players get their bestiary entries, accuracy players get their accuracy.

Doesn't work on Hallow enemies or during invasions for obvious reasons.
About the invasion bit, it could stop the goblin warlock spawning in goblin armies.

So we should inconvenience the player roe wanting accuracy? 10/10 game design, no notes.
If you're concerned about the accuracy of the Bestiary, then why not suggest that killing Hardmode equivalents adds Bestiary and banner progression while not adding to the displayed kill count? For instance, killing 50 Moss Hornets gives the complete entries for all Hornet variants and gives the Hornet Banner even if you haven't even seen a Hornet before, and the Bestiary still claims you haven't slain a single one?
The game already does part of this for the Salamander, Giant Shelly, and Crawdad trio; since only 2 of those 3 spawn per world, completing the 2 entries you can complete also completes the 3rd entry you can't complete.

Oh my gosh, that idea is awesome! Maybe the Peace Candle could even get this effect, to some extent? Maybe the Peace Candle could, for example, make 80% of enemy spawns be the pre-hardmode equivalents.?

Now, I want to clarify what I was thinking in my "Where's all the skeletons wearing Halloween costumes?!" frustration: What I was thinking with my original idea was to tweak the spawn probability between hardmode enemies and their pre-hardmode equivalents. Basically, instead of the underground jungle being full of Moss Hornets, with only ~2 basic Hornets nearby at once, you'd have a balance between those 2 enemies that's closer to 40% Hornets and 60% Moss Hornets.

Still not a big fan of this idea. Frenzy's suggestion is the best one imo

Isn't there a statue for the hornet? Wouldn't this help? [...]
The thing about statues is that (as far as I'm aware) they only spawn one variant of the enemy. For example, the Slime Statue only ever spawns Blue Slimes, and the Hornet Statue only ever spawns the very basic Hornet. So, the Hornet Statue never spawns the Honey, Leafy, or Spiky variants, which have their own Bestiary entries (but not displayed name for some reason. Their all refered to as just "Hornet".).

It's probably case dependant. Pigron statues spawn all 3 versions of the enemy.
