Biomes & Nature [Fortanono's Unholy Trinity] Changes to the Corruption and Crimson pre-Hardmode

Fortanono

Retinazer
If you haven't seen my Unholy Trinity suggestion, you can find it here. It's going to be pretty big, but the idea is this:
  1. Hallow can spawn instead of Corruption/Crimson at worldgen.
  2. Depending on your current "evil" biome spawned, you get a stripe of that biome and another biome (Corruption > Hallow, Crimson > Corruption, Hallow > Crimson).
  3. This affects the entire playthrough, and ends up, like Tobbvald's Tinkering, as 3 different playthroughs.
Anyway, I'm going to treat all of these biomes like equals, so my first thread will talk about what will be in each of these biomes pre-Hardmode and what changes we need to make to achieve equality. To start off, I will list everything that occurs in both these biomes:
  • 3 enemies (Corruption only has 2)
  • Chasms containing a kind of "orb" that summons a boss
  • The aforementioned boss, which has multiple parts (EoW segments/Creepers)
  • 5 treasures obtained by breaking the "orbs", one of which being a gun (Crimson only has 4)
  • An ore that will drop from the Eye of Cthulhu and the boss of that biome (EoW/BoC)
  • A material required to craft most things out of that ore (Shadow Scales/Tissue Samples)
  • A crafting material used to craft a boss summon without breaking the "orbs" (Rotten Chunks/Vertebrae)
  • A secondary crafting material used to craft a type of arrow (Worm Tooth, not present in Crimson)
  • A "powder" that works against them (currently the same thing, but it won't be soon)
  • And a "hazard" that impedes progress (Corruption's thorns, Crimson currently has nothing)
As you've probably noticed, there are quite a few gaps in the list. For example, there are only 2 enemies in the Corruption (with 3 in the Crimson) and 4 treasures from Pulsating Hearts (with 5 from Shadow Orbs). Some things don't even have a counterpart in the Crimson, such as Worm Teeth and those thorns that spawn. But right now, I will fill those gaps.

Corruption
Enemies
The Corruption doesn't have very many gaps to fill, considering that, well... It was the original evil biome. But compared to the Crimson, there is one gap: The enemies. There are Devourers and Eaters of Souls, but the Crimson has 3 enemies. Why not fill that gap?

My idea for the final enemy is the Thorn Creeper, a Plant AI enemy that is a precursor to the Clinger, but is much closer to the Snatcher than anything. (actually weaker, since the Jungle comes later in the game than the Corruption.) It would be themed after Corruption thorns, is purple, and spawns on corrupt grass. They too would have a 33.3% chance of dropping Rotten Chunks.

Ore
Demonite and Crimtane are counterparts to each other, but there's one unbalanced thing here. The Crimson gets the Meatball, a counterpart to the Ball O' Hurt.... Or so it seems. The Meatball is crafted as opposed to found from a Shadow Orb. Doesn't matter though, right? Well.... there is the Rotted Fork, which is kinda another counterpart to the Ball O' Hurt, so why doesn't the Corruption have a craftable spear?

Well... There still won't be one. Why? Because this is Fortanono's Unholy Trinity, and we gotta keep in mind the new pre-Hardmode Hallow. That will get a craftable spear, and.... a boomerang obtained for breaking its equivalent to Shadow Orbs. So, the Corruption will get a craftable boomerang to complete the trinity. The boomerang will be called the Throwing Star.

Oh, and it's worth mentioning that Crimson Armor will be renamed to Tissue Armor for reasons revealed later.

That's, TBH, about all for the Corruption, so... Let's move on to the Crimson!

Crimson
Orb Treasures
The Crimson has one less treasure than the Corruption when it comes to its "orbs". Every single treasure from the Crimson matches one from the Corruption:
  • Undertaker = Musket
  • Rotted Fork = Ball O' Hurt (yes, I know about the Meatball, but that's crafted)
  • Panic Necklace = Band of Starpower
  • Crimson Rod = Vilethorn
That means that the item we should make a counterpart to is the Shadow Orb item itself. I know, it'd be weird to have a glowing human heart follow you around, so probably not that. But I did have an idea that it could be an early-game mount, maybe a Blood Crawler mount? It could be able to climb on walls for very short periods of time. How about we call it the Bloody Horseshoe?

Arrows
Another gap in the Crimson is the fact that there are no arrows as a counterpart to Unholy Arrows. Well, first off, Unholy Arrows are NOT crafted using Rotten Chunks, but instead, Worm Teeth, which do not have a counterpart in the Crimson. So logically, these would not be crafted with Vertebrae, but a new material.

Wonder why Blood Crawlers literally drop Vertebrae even though spiders are in the invertebrate class? Wut? So how about Spider Legs that drop from Blood Crawlers instead to make Crimson Arrows? The arrows would summon a mini Crimera that act like bees from Queen Bee's drops, flying towards enemies and damaging them. They cannot be recovered, though.

Hazards
The Corrpution has thorns. And to be quite honest, they are one of the major parts of the pre-HM biome. They ward visitors away from going there on their first nights. And while the Crimson has powerful enemies, there's nothing to represent the thorns.

So, I had an idea for Warts. These things randomly grow on Crimson Grass, and shoot out blood geysers at the player. They cannot be broken by anything, but randomly turn on and off. They are also fairly short, so you are able to jump over them, but barely. They can be attached to any side of block that has grass on it, and shoots outward (like, if it is on a tile with grass on the top, it shoots upwards).

Recap
Well, I've discussed quite a few things here, but all this stuff is hidden in a massive wall of text, so I will recap in this section.
  • A new Corruption enemy, a plant AI enemy called the Thorn Creeper
  • A craftable Corruption boomerang called the Throwing Star, which will soon be part of a trinity with a Hallowed boomerang orb treasure and craftable spear
  • A Crimson Blood Crawler mount, an orb treasure called the Bloody Horseshoe
  • Spider Legs dropped by Blood Crawlers, used to make Bloody Arrows that spawn a mini Crimera that attacks enemies
  • Crimson Warts, which generate a geyser of blood that turns off and on
  • Crimson Armor is now called Tissue Armor for reasons to be revealed

i like the idea but what about when hallow spawns at world gen?
would there be new orbs replacements? if so, what would they drop? what would the boss be? what ore would they drop?
the hallow has no hazards so... would there be more?

I'm making that thread as we speak. I'll posting it in separate parts like Tobbvald's Tinkering. ;) (Also, I'll revamp this a bit soon)

EDIT: Here.
