maybe somthing for color blind people that makes the lines clearer
Can you define that more specifically? Do you find it hard to see some items against backgrounds? Are you talking about how blocks blend together? Do you want thicker outlines, or darker outlines?

not for me but if i was color blind i would want something that makes it easy to tell which block is which idk how maybe by making good blocks like ores and stuff more easy to tell apart

Ah I see, so more about having distinct ore textures then.

thanks also the i agree about the ores that was actually on my list of things to post i had oriculum and admentite but in cave lighting i kept geting them confused im not colorblind or anything but they just looked so similar especially when there wernt both in view eventually i realized if you use nights edge if would glow pink but it was still way to easy to confuse
I literally have the same problem. Those ores in particular look so similar and the spelunker potion doesn't help either because it just makes them both yellowish.

I also want to add that I have added your suggestion of a dedicated accessibility category to the paper because it's a really great idea :)

kind of but also there are probably more things like that that need something like for example pillers might be hard to tell apart also i was thinking what if there are mods that can kind of simulate disabillitys like for example color blindness and people could play it and give suggestions on challanges some might be hard to do but it could be good for figuring out challanges and fixes

the spelunker potion honestly doesn't help me very much with mining. since i have issues with seeing contrast, whenever i use it all of the ores look the same, since they basically all look plain yellow. if it just lit them up instead of highlighting them yellow it would make things easier, i think.

How did I miss this thread for so long? The discussion that’s been going on here is great and I fully support what you’ve trying to do @waffle2001. I’m glad Redigit and Re-Logic have noticed your efforts and taken a look at your amazing paper.

Also, here’s an accessibility adjacent suggestion I made awhile ago.

That is a really cool idea! Dead Cells has this feature in their accessibility settings which is much more versatile and individualized than full invincibility. I have added it to the paper and credited you accordingly :)

I've actually made a separate post for this, but was pointed here, and decided I might as well post it here.

One suggestion I have related to the language part of accessibility is removal of one of Terraria's possible title messages: "Obsessive-Compulsive Discovery Simulator". It's yet another one of those OCD "jokes" that trivialize OCD and make it seem like a funny and minor thing, as opposed to the debilitating disorder that it actually is. Going to get personal here, but I suffer from OCD myself, and after I deleted mod config folder after configuring everything for 348119th time and launched the game, being greeted with that title messages felt... very awful, to say the least.

Oh no. I have never noticed that title message before. I completely understand how upsetting it is to come across that. I have added this to the paper and credited you accordingly. It would be a very straightforward change to simply take this out and hopefully it'll be removed in the next update.

Here is my post in a rather angrily formatted suggestion on respawning with full HP: Cf. Game Mechanics - Spawning with half health regarding if someone is too slow to flee mid-invasion if getting spawnkilled. The persons groups that would benefit are: older people (regarding coordination), sensitive mentality people (regarding rage that breaks PCs), dyslexia people (regarding death message spam). I posted it there to reduce clutter.

Just in case it hasn't been thought about, the journey mode damage reduction slider suggestion should also reduce debuff damage by the same percentage. If someone reduced their damage taken by 95% or something similar, getting hit with the cursed flames debuff would do exponentially more damage than other attacks due to the flat instances of damage taken over time. Debuff damage being reduced alongside normal damage would help with that, unless damage reduction and defense already do something to mitigate that type of damage.

That’s all true, but I feel like debuffs having their own slider would be nice too just for the sake of more customization.
