Hitting play game seems to start the game, though before anything opens up, the colour goes from green to grey (the game closes). Trying to hit play game again brings up the error that the Terraria.exe file is missing.

Clicking play a third time, starts a small 'preparing to launch game' it downloads some files and seems to start before quickly closing again. With the game install folder open, the only thing that disappears is the Terraria.exe

When the game attempts to fix and reinstall things, the .exe file comes back and the installscript.vdf file gets updated.

Other than that, I'm not sure what the issue is. This came about after the latest update (believe it was on Wednesday or Thursday).
I tried a full reinstall, that didn't work either.
Any help getting this sorted so I can play again would be amazing.

Welcome to the forums DraeKras!
For the executable file to be deleted like that, I suspect your anti-virus program may be responsible. Could you please check it and see if it's detecting Terraria as malware?

Thank you Sigma!
Yes, I have no idea why but my Malwarebytes was suddenly perceiving it as malware. After whitelisting the folder, the games working again.
Happy to be back at it

Malwarebytes and other virus programs often are overzealous when it comes to installer/uninstaller software. I assure you Terraria is 100% safe. To prevent future incidents like these, I highly recommend putting the Terraria folder in the whitelist/exclusions section of your antivirus and/or anti-malware. You can do the same thing for the main Steam folder for extra screw-up prevention.
