Generating Ore in Underworld / Specific Biomes

I have been trying to figure this out for a couple hours now, and have searched all over the internet and I cannot find any such thing that will help me accomplish my task, and I was wondering how you would go about doing this?
 
I'm not sure how, but I think you could make it so it can only replace certain blocks (Ash, ice/snow, etc)
