Another thing that would help a great deal is a way to link teleporters without having to lay wire from one to another. I don't care how expensive this thing would be, just make it available.

(Not sure if others have been suggested, so sorry if i said some stuff that are already suggested)
(Height X Width)
Useful Items
Transmitter
-A 2x2 item
-Can transmit signals without the connection of wires in a 50x50 radius
-Will universally transmit signal regardless of colour unless a coloured wire is added
*This means that by adding a red wire inside the transmitter, only red coloured wires will accept the signal. Adding red and blue wires inside the transmitter will allow red and blue wires to accept the signal. If there is no wire inside, all kinds of wires will receive a signal.
-Will be sold by the Mechanic after Golem has been defeated for 15 Gold.

Nature Sensors
-A 2x1 item
-Will continuosly send a signal (like a timer) when a certain critera hits.
-Can be edited to send a signal in certain conditions

-Sold by the Party Girl after Plantera has been defeated for 2 Gold

Stopwatch
-A 2x3 item
-has all characteristics of the Cowndown item, but counts up instead of down.
*An option to stop at a certain time will be an added option
-Sold by the Party Girl after Plantera has been defeated for 2 Gold

What about a way to feed wire from point A to point B? That way we wouldn't have to dance around placing wire, messing up, backtracking to fix it, ect.

Things I kinda want to see
AI changes: If lights are wired up to a switch or lever, NPCs will be able to turn them on or off.
They would do so depending on light level and time. For example, in a room exposed to daylight via glass, the npc would turn lights off in the middle of the morning, turn them back on at evening, and turn them back off a couple hours into the night..

As for mechanisms, more traps, including at least one that can be placed on floors to do damage,

EDIT:
Have some sort of box like thing, that spawn robotic critters (Think of one of those wind up toys with the key in the back). And add a block type that will dictate what path they'll follow, so you can have them, for example, walk down a row of buttons that would activate a series of spear traps one by one.

That sounds pretty handy for monster farms

@Kazzymodus thanks!
My fault for not being into social networks like FB, Twitter and such. (well, not that I'm feeling so bad for not being into those... ~:p)

I don't have Twitter ether. However Yoraiz0r has posted the gifs on his page.

Okay, that makes sense. I thought he was referring to the pictures he provided.

Sorry. I should have been more detailed with that. I didn't have the time to find the post link, but I could have at least said Cenx said it.

Okay, I have refined my Rail idea for 1.3.1

Here are the parts.

HAZOq9C.png
Rails
: Can be placed like an Actuator and allows Rail Wheels to move along them.

xmTCg1z.png
Rail Wheel
: Can be placed like an Actuator and is moved by Rail Motors. When a Rail Wheel is on an active Rail Motor it is pushed along the rail and takes any object with it that it is placed on. It will keep it's same speed until it hits another Rail Motor or reaches the end of the rail.

DokOb0B.png
Rail Frames
: Can be placed like an Actuator and it does not move by Rail Motors. When placed next to a Rail Wheel or other Frames, Rail Frames will connect to them and will be pulled with Rail Wheels that are moving. Also moves objects they are placed on.

QYgnT9N.png
(Connected Rail Frames)

t3TrfP8.png
Rail Motors
: Can be placed like an Actuator and pushes Rail Wheels along Rails. Left-click with a Screw Driver to change directions.

QctYrAG.png
Rail Motors set at different speeds. Right-click with a Screw Driver to change speeds. (The black one on the right is an inactive Motor.)

This system will let players make all crazy kinds of moving devices.

Here is an example of a basic moving platform that moves horizontally. (Wire View)

rn4rPVA.jpg

Simply place Rail Motors on the ends of the rails to move Rail Wheels back and forth from end to end. (I used Living Fire in place of Lava just because it's easier to place and remove)

For custom maps you can make things more interesting by starting the Motors turned off and placing a switch players must hit to turn the Motors on. (Wire View)

QTnDJNq.jpg

Or if you want to make it harder, don't use blocks or a platform. Make a moving rope they have to climb on. (Normal View)

9k99NEj.jpg

(Wire View)
37YC4sX.jpg

(Note that Frames move with the Wheel they are connected too and pull objects they are placed on.)

With this Rail system custom maps can also have new kinds of hazards. Like these "smashers" in the picture below. (Normal View)

vBCTIBy.jpg

(Wire View)
BvN1OkQ.jpg

Place a Motor set on a slow speed at the bottom aimed up to make the blocks go up slowly, and place a Motor set at a fast speed aimed down to make the blocks drop down fast to smash players unfortunate to be caught under them. XD

They really need some kind of button that only activates things for 1 tick so we can make some cool elevators.
nynfdwY.jpg

Press the button to activate the Motor at the bottom just for a sec to send the platform up. With it off after the platform is sent up, it will stop when you go back down and it hits the off Motor. (I just made a red dot on Light Switches to make a button.)

These are just some of the basics of what can be done with Rails. I know we will see custom maps with all crazy kinds of platforming puzzles and hazards.

Fabulous. Want this chest? NOPE! *chest flies upwards*

I would like to see:
1. More wire colors.
2. A wrench that cycles thru the different colors with right click.
3. Logic gates for wiring systems
4. Sprinklers for farming waterlief and fireblossem without the need to submerge them.
5. A switch that flips when it is submerged and de-submerged.

DJ NPC
1. If the Mechanic and Goblin Tinkerer are present the Party Girl will sell a Jukebox. The DJ will only spawn if there is an empty house with containing a jukebox.
2. The DJ sells radio and audio equipment.
a. Ham Radio
b. Radio Tower
c. Audio Sampler
d. Speaker
e. Mobile Radio
f. Pre Recorded Music Boxes(Unlockable)
3. while in your inventory the audio sampler records and transmits the surrounding music to the DJ. Once he has enough of a track it becomes playable on the jukebox and will
be sold by the DJ in music box form. Additional sampling will unlock remixes that can be switched out in game by the DJ.
4. Ham Radios are placed in NPC houses and wired to Radio Tower(s) to have them join the local radio network. Each addition to the radio network would receive additional
inventory as well as add new inventory possibilities to the Traveling and Skeleton Merchants, as well as various other effects.
5. The Mobile Radio is an information accessory that cycles through different information from members of the local radio network. Possibilities include:
a. The Guide could give general GPS coordinates for mini biomes and floating islands that aren't on the map.
b. The angler could broadcast the current fishing quest.
c. The Goblin Tinkerer could give advanced warning of goblin invasion. Likewise for the Pirate.
d. The Magician could forecast eclipses and blood moons.
6. Some members of the radio network may provide passive bonuses.
a. The Tax Collector could have a financial advice show that boosts enemy coin drops.
b. The Stylist's radio show could cause some enemies to spawn wearing goofy wigs just for the fun of it. (I can just imagine the wall of flesh with a giant mullet.)
c. The Clothier's Fashion show could boost the spawn rate enemies that drop rare clothing like the Groom.
d. The Party Girl's show could decrease the kill requirement/increase the drop rat of banners and trophies.
7. A Radio Tower could be combined with a transporter to make a wireless transporter.
8. The Audio Sampler and the Mobile Radio could be combined with a cellphone to make a smartphone.

Something along these lines would be a lot of fun.

Yeah, if they allow it you could move chest too. It would be great for moving things around without haven't to first empty your inventory to have room to remove all the items from the chest.
Maybe they could store the items into the entity data so it would be safe to move. Or just move empty chest, that could be fun too. There should also be a spinning motor, so you could spin things around like the spike balls in the dungeon.

Since NPCs don't actually sleep, it might make more sense if they kept the light on all night. But either way, something like that would be cool to see.

#1 is confirmed (one new color only, yellow), as is #3.
#4 is obsolete because those plants don't work that way anymore. Waterleaf hasn't required submersion as long as I've been playing, and Fire Blossoms changed in 1.3. Now they bloom during rain and at sunset respectively.
I'd really like to see #5 though, it'd be great for complex machines, and #2 is a popular suggestion too, I hope something like that makes it into the game.

I would like to see wire cuter deleted from the game and instead of using wire cuter to remove wire, you would use wrench and right mouse button.
Also it would be nice if you could craft the wire with cooper and wrench with iron

My idea isn't related to wiring and mechanics but this would be a nice addition for the multiplayer.

Using the "Up-Key" on your keyboard should let you scroll through your last messages and commands that you've used before so you can resend them over and over again (very useful for servers and their owners - and there are plugins to prevent spamming the chat so this feature wouldnt cause any "damage").

Using the "Scroll-Wheel" on your mouse should scroll through all messages that were sen't.

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure this has been requested before but i would LOVE to have some kind of Advanced Teleporter. It would cost 10 Gold and you would buy it from the Steampunk after golem. The reason it is expensive and has the word "Advanced" in it is because if you right click the Teleporter itself a GUI will come up and you can input a number, Any two Teleporters with the same number will teleport to each other with a switch attached to it using wire. If more than two have the same number tehy choose a random number. This would NOT replace teleporters entirely but just as an easier way to make quick trips to hell and such.

Just a thought.

Delayers: will delay a wire signal between 1 and 5 seconds.

A block that will change color depending on what the color of the wire wich is powering it is. (great for making animations.)

Converters: will convert one color of wire to another when powered.

Binary memory cells: to keep track of on and off signals passing by.

Some easy to use logic gates, so wire can be used by people without alot of technical experience.

Color memory cell: Will keep track of the order wich different colors passing by.

Executors: Will execute a memory stored from a memory cell.

Inverters: Will invert the wire signal.

Convayer belts: Will move a block in one direction when it gets powered.

Updators: Will create a stable signal when a solid block is in its place. (the convayor belts and updators are invisible like the wire when not holding mechanic items.)

We need alot more wire colors, and let it be one wrench and one wire cutter, and make it to where we can just scroll trough colors.

Trackbots: Can be placed on top of minecart tracks. (No other purpose than to power pressure plate tracks.)

Blockbreakers: will break a block if placed next to it. (blockbreakers can be rotated to wich way you want it to break)

Blockplacers: will place a block from its inventory.

Pipes: Will move items from an inventory storage to another. (they move 1 item per sec, no matter how long the pipe is, if the reciever storage is full it can no longer take items out of the giving storage.)

Pickers: Will store any item that lands on it into its inventory.

Engines: The engine is a solid block that will move anything attached to it.

Conecters: will conect more blocks to the engine.

Power block: a moveable powersource. (Comes in all wire colors.)

Liquid tanks: will store all liquids. Lava, water, honey. (would be cool with even more liquids aswell.)

Drains: will remove liquids.

Showers: Will spill outh liquids.

I hope you will like my ideas. I know some of them might be hard to imploment, but this would give Terraria alot more depth and much more to do in late game for example. If this got implomented tons of cool stuff would be possible.
