Hello everyone, Lyn here, I just wanted to make a small post on the problems of the current Granite/Marble biome generation. As is, the generation of these biomes are extremely small and sparse, making it extremely difficult to locate one of these biomes. In a randomly generated Medium sized world, these are how many of each biome existed.
17 Marble
8 Granite
9 Mushroom
Marble seems to generate more often, but it's also so hard to find due to being about half as tall as Granite, which itself is hard to find, as despite being a little smaller on average compared to Mushroom, it lacks any indicator on existing.
Now I really don't think this is too big of an issue in vanilla, as there's hardly any content in either of these biomes, but the world ends up feeling a little boring to explore when Granite/Marble biomes are more often than not these kind of nothing generation biomes. Especially since they're pretty hard to locate and you kind of have to be actively looking for them more often than not.
(Also in 1.3 it felt like they were everywhere, now in 1.4 it feels like they're nowhere, odd)
I know I can't ask for a whole revamp on how they're generated, but I'd at least like bigger generation/lights that indicate there's a biome there, that way if more content is added whether added via modding or vanilla, it's easier to locate.
I like how Granite generates, it's pretty cool, but I just wish it was bigger and contained a house more often (maybe a custom house would be cool, give it already lit furniture too or something), Marble generates really weird though, more often than not being extremely compact and sometimes blocked off, I wish it was taller and waaay wider so it felt like an open corridor to go through so it feels more different from the basic caves
(I play modded a ton, and finding these biomes is a pain as they actually contain extremely valuable early game loot I beg of you devs just give me larger mini biomes please)
