Habits in games

skipping all optional dialogue and not understanding 90% of the games story

I was just playing Minecraft for ðe first time in over a monþ and I kept holding shift to place a torch like I would in Terraria.

Is there any particular habit you have in games?
Things like reloading after firing just one shot or sprinting everywhere and all that stuff.

Generally doing unnecessary things out of muscle memory. For example, in ULTRAKILL, I shotgun swap sometimes but it's conditioned me to press the swap button after shooting any weapon.
I'm the type of person to save all my consumables or general special items, and then never use them. Like, in terraria, I'll save my life force or exquisitely stuffed buffs for hard bosses, and only use them on the moon lord once I realize I forgot to use them..

If a game has splitting paths, I HAVE to see where each one goes, I have to talk to every npc and read all the dialogue, I have to check every pipe when I play Mario, you get the idea.
