Weapons & Equip Hardmode Mining Armor Upgrade.

Could there be a hardmode upgrade to the mining set? I feel like whenever I am mining in hardmode with my mining set I always end up dying. Also maybe it could have a spelunker potion effect with the full set.

Ehh, gonna have to sadly disagree with this.
The Mining Set already provides a 30% Mining Speed increase, 25% from the Ancient Chisel (Stackable with Hand of Creation) + 10% from mining potions on the addition of the speed of the Hellstone Pickaxe or the early Hardmode Pickaxes. The only downside is defense but 60% from the non-armor increases still makes it incredibly fast. Also being in hardmode indicates you are well enough able to craft your own potions such as spelunky, even the Post-moonlord True Eye of Cthulhu pet gives the less effective particle glow to treasure compared to the Spelunky Potions full-on visibility glow.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense, I wasn’t meaning for there to be more of a mining speed increase, just more defense. And maybe a cool spelunker potion effect.

I think combining it with Mythril bars maybe, or give it the same Spawnrate decrease as Angler Armor

That would actually be really awesome! Because I use the mining armor with my building set as well, and it is super annoying when enemies keep interrupting my building. Even when I have peace candles around.

Fun thing, the mining armor is pretty bad in hardmode as there is actually a cap of 70% mining speed increase. You don't really need the armor to hit the cap. Mining potion (25%) + ancient chisel (25%, hand of creation also works and doesn't stack) + slice of cake (20%) already hits the cap, and you can even replace the cake with exquisitely stuffed (15%) plus the permanent buff from ambrosia (5%). Celestial stone/shell increases by 15% as well.
