Hello, Archolm here!

Terrarian
Hello fellows! I have been playing and off for 220 hours in this amazing game and I'm faced with a bit of a dilemma. When I just started out I kind of burned myself out by viewing a "have everything" map so I never really played much, then last year I decided to pick it up again and have been in love ever since. This is like the perfect game. Had this been here when I was a kid I would have never played anything else.
I was enjoying my playthrough on normal when I started to see youtube videos and they had these wonderful idols, for when you defeat a boss in master mode... and to me... I don't think I'm a good enough player to get them all but just having a few would rock my world and halfway in hard mode would be my endgame and id basically would have defeated the game, upon which I could farm and build to my heart's content. In actual end game. However... I'm not the most skilled player and to be honest my tactic is to basically out gear a boss. So I'm trodding along in pre hardmode master mode. Yet in my current world I can already see the Crimson (my pref) starting to spread out from where it originated and I don't feel like i'm even halfway there to tackle the issue. I have Tungsten Armor and Flaming Mace, Gold Pickaxe and The Undertaker which I got with a nice planted dynamite. I have yet to tackle any boss, like I said I feel still very weak.

My actual questions are,
1. Would adding a 4 wide patch of Red Bricks in TEdit, stop the Crimson from spreading? If I draw around the Crimson? This to me, for me, would not feel like cheating.
2. Is there a perfect seed where there is little to no Crimson/Corruption and if possible, like a nice mix of early to get items? Id love a map that has a fledling wings somewhere.
3. Is there a well-documented pref written website where I can read up on useful or fun things to make? Other than this forum of course.

My ideal playthrough would be finding fledgling wings, little to no Crimson, and make the world my own. Right now I constantly feel like I'm in some crap world and once I do finally have a nice base and some items I dread the Crimson. And it would be great if you could help me give me advice on how to attain that.

I applaud this community and the people that made this great game.

After you defeat the Wall of Flesh the Corruption/Crimson and the Hallow will spread in V-shaped starting around the middle part of the world (so, the biome on the west and east will suffer much, the middle will be relatively safe, but not forever). Therefore, trying to contain them from the beginning is kinda useless. Building walls around the biome (including its underground) where your settlements were built is preferable. So, your wall will look like a giant container, and the biome and its settlement will be the one inside it.

I don't remember all of it. Perhaps, Terraria wiki will tell you a lot about it.

The secret “Not the bees!” seed is good at really slowing down the Crimson, but I’m not sure you would appreciate the other things it does…

Well I was mainly talking about prehardmode, I just want to focus on exploring and building a half-decent base before Crimson gets me, and I suppose building a wall around my spawning biome would prevent it from spreading there. From what I read on the Wiki bricks, like red brick or green brick will not get infected yes? What about Stone Slab?
Ill be honest I'm very new to this site so I don't know if this is allowed here but I will just use TEdit to dam in the Crimson. Anxiety is a very big word but I dislike the stress that comes from Crimson spreading and for my real actual playthrough I just want to focus on what I love which is exploring and building. I'm 200+ hours in but I still feel like I'm very new at this game and I want to bathe in it.

Is there... someone willing to take a look at my actual map once I have damned in the Crimson? Like if anyone here that's half decent and knowledgeable about the game could at a glance tell me if the map is half decent for a "home" like world. Maybe if you want to be a real friend you put in a Fledgling Wings somewhere that I could find and you don't tell me about?

I'm pretty sure i'm nowhere near the level for Not the bees! seed, or any variate of that. I'm kind of an older gamer and my reflexes aren't the best anymore. I'm not even sure if Master Mode is even doable for me! But at this point, its like my America and like a Columbus I must conquer it!

I appreciate the responses!

The Evil will not go anywhere in pre-hardmode. There is nothing you should really worry about.

And yes, any kind of crafted blocks (and any kind of wood) will never get infected.
