Weapons & Equip Hey I'm just new here and had a suggestion for the zenith,since it's the ultimate weapon in the game could it's dps made more adaptable next update

Ohh I mean it should be made to be able to adjust it's dps depending on the enemy so that it still gives that challenge and also is still reliable even in the mods

Zenith is supposed to make the entirety of everything not a challenge. Everything post-game is blatantly overpowered because it’s fun to shred through the challenges you once struggled with.

Mods can balance the game themselves.
 
Yeah it is but wouldn't it be great for it to be adapting with stronger bosses rather than it being left behind

If a modder wants it, they can code that. There are no post-ML bosses, so this feels random.
 
But shouldn't the great be considered the great just by it's own way, just like how a true fighter knows how to evolve with the situation through his own will

Zenith is meant to be the culmination of your journey capable of rendering gods to dust. It shouldn't be evolving, it is the finale.
 
This is kind of confusing. Elaborate before making a post. Otherwise it just isn't good.
 
Well I mean since it's the ultimate weapon shouldn't it prove that point, I mean that since it can do high amounts of dps shouldn't it have the power to increase it further more instead of it being fixed shouldn't it be able to adjust it's self high to even shred more difficult enemies instead of it being left in the shadows
 
I mean in the contex that the weapon has a fixed dps but it needs more instead of it's dps being fixed shouldn't it have the ability to adjust it's damage output more when facing post moon lord boss since it's a post moon lord weapon shouldn't it's prove that in the mods too, it's persona is to be powerful but it's usually lacks behind in some mods. It's the best but it should also be Able to prove that too, even in the later phase of the frost moon it gets challenging, I'm just saying the weapon deserves better and should be able to prove that legacy.
 
I feel like the Zenith is... Debatably alright for being the apex of all weaponry in the game, and given that it can shred just about anything, it's fine. I don't believe we should be comparing it's performance in vanilla to its performance in mods, such as Calamity, where it's essentially worthless due to the mod itself providing more interesting options.

Also, as people above have said (and this is just a friendly recommendation), but it's probably a good idea to specify in the first post what exactly you mean by "making the Zenith more adaptable" :)
 
Are you suggesting an option to be able to do less damage than normal (half, 25% etc), to give yourself a challenge? While that would be cool, why not just use a different earlier game weapon at that point? As mentioned, the zenith is supposed to be strong, allowing it to feel like a final weapon.

And if you are suggesting even MORE damage, I don't think the zenith needs that (although admittedly I've never used one). Plus you can already do that anyways with accessories/potions.

And if you are comparing it to mods, your suggestion is invalid because this forum is for suggesting changes to vanilla terraria.
 
By adaptable I mean it should have the ability to change damage by increasing more when being used. Like let's say an enemy is taking too long to complete it should have the ability to see that it's not working and should be able to increase its damage so it could work even better, just like how a fighter evolves with the situation and doesn't stay stagnant and loose,it should be an ever evolving weapon during battle

that is interesting, actually.. but what if you unclick? Does it only reset when switching weapons? how long does it take to ramp up?

Its already the strongest weapon though, does it need to be stronger?
 
Yeah Isn't it get and yeah it could ramp up after 5 to 10 seconds and also it could ramp up faster depending on the boss and if you unclick it it could have a grace period of 10 seconds before it resets and if you switch weapon or item it could have a 60 or maybe 20 second count like how health potions work
 
Also after the 10 seconds it could ramp up by 15% or 20% and also the more the ramp up the more the auto surrounds the sword or player,or maybe you could choose to right click to trigger the adapting, you could right click to toggle on and off
 
Ramp-up damage would take away from the simple “click-and-die” aspect of Zenith. There’s no complex gimmick, just you and the ultimate blade.

yea im also going to agree that, as already the strongest weapon, it doesn't need additional ramp up damage.

While the idea of a ramp up weapon seems cool, that doesnt need to be added to the zenith
